IMHO, 150min/week of “aerobic” exercise are insufficient for long-term longevity and metabolic health gains/maintenance…I would say that ~300min/week should be the goal. Furthermore (and very important), the concept of Zone 2 training is NOT about cardiorespiratory improvements (aka VO2max) but about metabolic improvements at the cellular and bioenergetic level, driven by an improvement of mitochondrial function. At least this is how I have seen it since I “coined” my definition of Zone 2 almost 30 years ago and have always used it the same way. Also, I encourage people to start talking more about metabolic training instead of “cardio” training. We have been doing it already for at least 2 decades in the world of high sports performance. All exercise intensities improve cardiorespiratory adaptations. However different training zones stimulate different bioenergetic systems leading to different cellular and metabolic adaptations. Targeting the right metabolic adaptations can have significant improvements in longevity and metabolic health.

Aaron Rodgers injury appears to be either Lisfranc foot injury, ankle sprain or possibly even Achilles. Similar mechanism to JK Dobbins injury Sunday. Best case is ankle sprain. Will miss several weeks best case.

Doing an annual 'Check-up' with your doctor is probably a sensible thing to do. But this year, try something different. Get a V02 Max Test done. See where you stack up. Train to improve it. I suspect doing this will give you a lot more life years than a 'Check Up'.

Scary fact!😱 5 year mortality if you have a major amputation 🦵🦿for diabetes is worse than all cancers bar lung cancer. That's why we do everything we possibly can to try to save the limb. Saving limbs saves lives👍. Kings Diabetic course by @VenuKavarthapu Worlds Best – at London, England

First stage of treatment today was a transmetatarsal amputation. Provided satisfactory infection resolution, 2nd stage will involve gastrocnemius recession and total tibialis anterior tendon transfer in a week or 2. Primary concern will be lateral overloading.

If the football all stars were picked today Andrew Murnin 100 percent deserves a spot in the FF line but he’d have zero chance of getting one. Doesent do enough flashy stuff for media but by far Armaghs best player this year. #gaa

Redoing one of my very first 🧵for followers that didn't see it the first time... Short🧵 about what it means when an instrument has a gold handle. The gold handles look cool but are the instruments actually any better? Read on to find out... (1/ )
