On SWE-bench Pro, Sonnet 5 + a Fable 5 advisor tool gets ~92% of Fable 5's score at ~63% of the price.
Fable 5 is called rarely (~once) per task to steer while Sonnet 5 executors the majority of the work.

Exposing @vecel upselling tactics: Releasing theupsellgame.com, an investigative website that details all the upselling Vercel does, which you only discover when you are already locked in.
I left @vercel and joined @Cloudflare land on all my latest new projects. I want to be clear, I left @vercel because they try to upsell you every time they can once you are in. No mercy. Cloudflare is much more generous and powerful. I truly wish Vercel the best 👋👋👋

hard to believe we're past needing software developers when the apps that all of these Al companies ship are so awful and broken

POKÉMON GO PLAYERS TRAINED 30 BILLION IMAGE AI MAP
Niantic says photos and scans collected through Pokémon Go and its AR apps have produced a massive dataset of more than 30 billion real-world images.
The company is now using that data to power visual navigation for delivery robots, letting them identify exact locations on city streets without relying on GPS.

It’s wild that installing a first person shooter can make every application on your computer slower and can let a third-party read / write every file. We used to call this stuff spyware.

Hetzner blocked my accounts twice.
I’d make an account, miss a payment or something, and bam I can’t log in to pay my balance. Burned my two primary emails doing this.
Could never reach a person. Nobody cared about my business.
Hetzner is literally 5x cheaper than some alternatives, which all have their own issues. But the fact that I literally could not reach a human was the reason I gave up on them.
I’d rather pay 5x more somewhere else that actually responds. Even drug dealers have better support (I assume)
In practice, this really sucks. There are things I want to do that are only economically viable with Hetzner.
People need to know what they’re signing up for with Hetzner.
We spent six figures there, and there’s just no way to reach a real human.
I literally asked to talk to someone human one day and they just said "no."
And every few weeks, random alerts would pop up, and I’d have to fill hundreds of forms manually just to stop our infra from getting banned in the next 6 hours.
Not fun.
So for sure their $3 VPS are cheap,
But saying hosting your app there is better because AWS went down is like saying you’ll build your own plane to fly transatlantic because a Boeing crashed.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The user is using Hetzner for scrapping content as a service what could damage the provider and the reputation of their IP addresses due to the scrapping traffic that could be similar to scans hitting many random websites, what's against their ToS.

With AI, software estimates are now "5 seconds or 5 hours". Either way, your developer will let you know their progress in 2 days.
