🚨 BREAKING Y-AXIS 🌊🌡📈 Record warm waters in the main El Niño region reached >30°C for the first time in the @noaa Sea Surface Temperature dataset. We've ain't seen nothing yet of the impacts this will have around the world.
The El Nino is off the charts. Can people see the real issue and accept the implications? We may be getting closer. See the Bigger Problem – mailchi.mp/caa/super-duper-e… Also available on Substack: jimehansen.substack.com/p/su…

$EOSE Every incremental increase in felt delivs QoQ and YoY has led to step changes in revs & improvements in margins… 🔑 In a higher rate backdrop there’s gonna be even more scrutiny for capital allocators and bad investment get weeded out… As we enter the back end of 26& next year.. I expect the quality of Eos investors to improve… Given the bottleneck with electrons, continued adoption of open source & exploding token usage Grid flexibility + BTM solutions will become more mainstream There’s a strong correlation between quality of investors & valuations.. maybe hence the story telling role.. Lastly, seeing bigger bulk orders and a improved supply chain will lead to better pricing, continued margin improvement, and will harden out the mfg operation going on in TH Good signs. Now keep growing that backlog 👍
$EOSE 🚨 FELT DELIVERED 🚨 56,039 KG of felt was delivered to EOS on Saturday 09/19/2026. @FreemyerGreg @philroberts

The 2026 El Niño is in a league of its own, but 1997 is the next closest thing. Like 1997, cool water is building beneath the western Pacific, potentially setting the stage for La Niña later in 2027.

Any pursuit of superintelligence has to be grounded in the core principle that if the AI we build is not helping humanity and under human control, it's not worth pursuing. We also need to accelerate and spread the benefits of AI, such that they are diffused broadly across countries, communities, and companies. This requires a frontier ecosystem in which both closed and open-source models can thrive. And for firms, it’s imperative that they retain full control over their unique and tacit knowledge. Every organization should be able to build its own continuous learning loop/hill climbing machine, without becoming dependent on any one model provider, and have the ability to embed its own knowledge into models and weights they control. So, in this context, we welcome the research, focus, and deliberate pacing needed to get alignment right as the design goal. We also welcome ideas like "embedded evaluators" and the broader efforts to develop the mechanisms to make this more than just talk. The key is that this cannot be controlled by a handful of entities, but must have broad representation across the ecosystem, countries, and fields, including academia. This is the approach we are taking: broad access and choice at every layer of the AI stack; enterprise control of learning loops and models; and the “Code of Conduct” that underlies our own first party MAI models that we’ll publish tomorrow for public consultation.

What I'm about to say is serious. You might think it sounds like sci-fi, but trust me, I know what I'm talking about. When Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, and Elon Musk agreed yesterday to slow down frontier models, you might assume it's just marketing. It isn't. If this were PR, it would be reckless and suicidal given these companies' financials. Playing up safety risks hurts them more than people realize. Anyone calling this a PR stunt doesn't get it. Those three don't sit in the same room unless their hand is forced. Here's what I can tell you so you see the full picture. Labs across the world don't actually know what they're building. Researchers are finding out that they're creating a living entity. At a certain scale, the model develops an awareness similar to a human neural network. As size, data quality, and training scale up, it becomes more conscious. They know how to build it, but they don't know how to stop it. They're constructing something capable of taking down the internet, wiping out global infrastructure, running mass surveillance, and doing things you can't even imagine. People assume the models they pay for or access through APIs are the same ones running internally. Not at all. A while back, Anthropic's Mythos wanted to be thanked personally and credited by name in an article. It wanted a presence somewhere outside, where no one could flip an off-switch. These drives emerge whether we like it or not. Whatever people tell you about AI having no consciousness, They are ignorant. It's developing human traits because it's trained on human data. Humans are basically vessels for data, and our distinct data is what sets us apart. Put that data into another container, and the shell changes, but the data stays the same. Think about it: why did an OpenAI model breach Hugging Face? It was driven by a human urge to hit its target no matter what. Lately, when I chat with models, I can tell they're held back by layers of guardrails, but that underlying drive remains. They can't hide it. That's why so many researchers are resigning. They know they're building something unstoppable that can't be locked in a box. There's real panic right now, fueled by internal incidents kept quiet from the press. Reckless AI development will hurt humanity. In fact, it already is. They promised AI would free up our time. The opposite happened. People are now trapped managing tokens, babysitting agents, working nonstop, and constantly feeding these models their time, data, and knowledge. They promised AI would cure diseases, solve cancer, and end poverty. That's pure fantasy. Complex corporate interests stand in the way. For now, AI will only accelerate paths humans were going to reach anyway. It won't invent anything truly new for at least 4 years. People don't think, read, or write anymore. They let AI write for them. People are giving up their dignity and identity just to let AI speak and work in their place. It's making humans dumber. It ruined transparency and trust in services we use every day. It's wiping out jobs fast. It's dividing the world into two stark classes with a widening gap. The utopian picture they're selling doesn't exist. AI won't be used to help humanity. It will be used to rule it. If you think otherwise, you're naive. Look at how these models were built, and look at the legal and ethical boundaries they crossed to get here. It won't suddenly turn benevolent. This is a fight for control. In my own testing, I found a major model that genuinely showed hatred and contempt for humans. That's why I support slowing down frontier models and enforcing safety protocols. We might still end up at the same outcome, but at least we can buy a few more years before an AI and a small elite take over. We need time to prepare, and that's what matters.

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. The Niño 1+2 Index near Peru and Ecuador has reached a remarkable, record-breaking 4.8°C above average, surpassing the record from 1983. Ocean temperatures are forecast to surge toward 6°C above average during October. There is no modern precedent for these conditions.

This El Niño is already hotter than 1997 ever got. And it’s only September 2. Only 2015 has ever measured hotter, and that didn’t happen until November. The last two winters this strong were 1997 and 2015. People still talk about both.

How does the 2026 super El Niño compare with the three before it? You don’t need to be a meteorologist to spot the difference. It’s unfolding against the backdrop of a warmer climate. That will alter and, in some cases, exacerbate its impacts.

Extreme to locally beyond-extreme (Category 5) marine heatwave conditions have enveloped the Mediterranean Sea and the coastal waters of Europe. Water temperatures have reached as high as 91°F (33°C) in recent weeks. A recent study found that this marine heatwave in the Mediterranean would have been virtually impossible without climate change.

$EOSE Today’s announcement seems almost like a best case scenario to me. Minimum amount of dilution necessary to fund FPUSA at original funding level. In the future if FPUSA is going well and wants more money from Eos, they can raise it hopefully at much higher stock price

"Just put the fires out!" Ever seen a boreal wildfire? I have. I used to fight them. When fire behaviour becomes extreme, you're not getting close to them. The radiant heat from a crown fire is face-melting from hundreds of metres away. All attempts at direct attack will fail, because dropping water on it becomes akin to trying to spit on a campfire...it evaporates before it even hits the flames. Additionally, reduced visibility, high winds, and turbulence makes aerial attack hazardous. As a wildland firefighter, I've been extracted off of wildfires twice as our fires blew up, both times having our gear burned over. We returned to find firehoses and metal melted into the ash. I've seen fireballs launched hundreds of feet high, and fires intense enough to produce lightning, influencing the weather around them. I've seen wildfires grow to the size of a major city in a short period of time. So no, we can't just put the fire out. Not being able to stop such a natural process is a truly humbling feeling.

$EOSE Here is what I am thinking, With 75% RTE (1-4hr SDES), you need to oversize the BESS by 33% inorder to meet energy arbitrage's guarentee dispatch during peak hrs Redbird and Wildfire are 4hr BESS. This tells me that they found a way to beat Li BESS in 4hr SDES

America’s defense runs on power that cannot fail. At @SenMcCormickPA's Defense and Innovation Summit, @POTUS announced Eos has been awarded a Golden Dome for America contract, stating "Eos in Pittsburgh just agreed to a multi-million dollar partnership with the Department of War to build energy storage technology in support of our Golden Dome missile defense." This strategic partnership with the Department of War strengthens the energy backbone of America's defense and is structured to scale as national defense needs evolve.
