“When Colin was right…”
NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB are all much better run than college football has been thru the decades by the NCAA and all have very large playoff pools (that have expanded over the years). Not surprisingly, they’re all doing just fine. Too many people treat college football like it’s holy and sacred ground. September is a mess (worse now w NIL) where AP top 25 teams destroy outmanned opponents. Conference Championship games (outside of the SEC) were mostly forgettable. Ten teams backed out of bowl games last season and it was only getting worse. “Nobody asked for this” is a reasonable take but nobody asked for an IPhone either or the countless entrepreneurial products that enrich our lives or at minimum make life more efficient. College football in the 90s had multiple split national champs, so it’s always struggled w how to end the season. So finally it will end like our better run pro leagues do — with a large playoff. A general rule that holds true, is that if the quality of something is strong, it will thrive regardless of change. The NIL has made the college rosters older and therefore more experienced and the game has benefitted. Onward.

If the Brewers and Rays are in the World Series and it derails the salary cap… but it exposes the poorly run organizations like Pittsburgh, I’m good with that.

Watching this in hindsight I have to believe Dan Quinn just doesn’t understand the OT rules. There is no reason to run the clock out. Did he think the Giants would get the ball back? Must’ve. Only explanation. This is insanity

Poster says “DST supporters are lazy and brainwashed that has nothing better to do.” That’s effectively summarizes the intellectual level of this conversation.
Both of them are right. It shouldn't matter if Sunrise is at 4:30 a.m. In the morning. It shouldn't matter if Sunset is before 5:00 p.m. In Winter from October to February. What should matter is our health and safety. And history. Because of our kids we are better off on Standard time. DST supporters are lazy and brainwashed that has nothing better to do. And sadly they want to make everyone miserable because of them want to be selfish. Standard time supporters. It's time to rise up and take control. This election whoever supported DST vote them out!!!!

I guess conference championships don’t count as “real success “…. Of course Pitt has done that more recently than Penn State…
Teams who constantly compare themselves to PSU: -Pitt -VT What do these teams have in common? Both dogshit ACC programs who haven’t seen real success in decades

HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM: This is a well written and thought out article written by a 26 yr old college student by the name of Alyssa Ahlgren, who's in grad school for her MBA. What a GREAT perspecitve... My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us! I'm sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis (Florida) trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of presidential candidates calling for policies to "fix" the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook's, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we've become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don't give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty One Times!!! Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful. ?? Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, "An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity." Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I've ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let's just say I didn't have the popular opinion, but I digress. Why then, with all of the overwhelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they've never seen prosperity, and as a result, we elect some politicians who are dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism. Why? The answer is this,?? my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn't live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or we didn't see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don't know what it's like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don't have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it's spreading like a plague."

So to follow the logic of the “Cut Mason Rudolph” crowd: if Darnold is really hurt, you’re not winning the Super Bowl with Drew Lock. The season is over so they should put Jalen Milroe in and see what have. NOW do we understand how stupid that sounds?

There’s nuance to this situation impossible to parse out in the era of hot takes & virtue signaling, but Matt Campbell is not trying to launder the Paterno legacy. He is, however, trying to heal the massive schism between the program & its lettermen, fomented by James Franklin.
Matt Campbell on restoring the "Success with Honor" sign: "I'm not a big slogan guy, I don't have a lot of great slogans, but one thing I know is to continue to pay honor to what's come before us." "When you talk to these former players and the guys that have come through here, what that value system has meant to this program, that I just felt in absolute alignment with that value, and I think it means exactly what it should mean here at Penn State."
