Please choose wisely. Permanent Daylight Saving Time should not be an option. It's been proven that Daylight Saving Time is bad. Please choose Standard time. We can handle 4:30am sunrises and 4:30pm sunsets sure we don't like it. But we need to put our health first. Standard!

How about this? How about you and me? Enjoy a lovely sunset one of these weekends and see how long it will get dark after sunset. Like I said you will still have 30 minutes after Sunset of light.. . After that 30 minutes it will get dark. But I'm willing to fly down or travel just for you and me. Just have a nice peaceful talk and enjoy a beautiful sunset together I think both of us can agree that everyone must have changed their clocks, right? Is this which way? People need to understand that life doesn't involve DST. All you're doing is just waking up earlier and that's it. Simple as that. If we can get people to understand that they can wake up earlier and start their day earlier and they can enjoy their evening Sunset that would be perfect if we have businesses opening up earlier. Because in Arizona distances change their work hours so they can leave earlier. Enjoy the sunshine. That's why we need to start doing here for the whole country as a nation but also being healthy On the right time. We can have a great in both worlds and standard time but you guys refuse to take it which is sad But like I said, here's a video of the sunset time lapse that my friend made youtu.be/RbOzbQApRYY?is=u6n8… – at McChesneytown-Loyalhanna, PA
I’d invite everyone to go outside 30 minutes after sunset, look around, and tell me how “light” it is. Trust your own eyes. Would you be playing ball with your kids in that limited light? Walking with your family at the park? Cutting the lawn? Chatting with neighbors on the front porch? Be able to finish a round of golf? No, no, no, no, and no. And now decide if you want it to be that way AN HOUR EARLIER every night from early March through early November. Normal post-work outdoor spring/summer/fall activities short-changed — sacrificed at the altar of “just shut up and accept it; it’s good for you.” If you honestly explain what permanent standard time would mean to everyday Americans, they will reject it overwhelmingly.

So this person is still claiming that it is still dark doubling down that it is dark before 7:00PM in Latrobe, PA on August 31st Even though on August 31st Sunset was at 6:50 p.m. On Standard time it would still be light after 7. Actually 7:20 It's dark. August 31st is still summer like I said, but the heart of Summer is already passed. That would have been early August or Late July In Portland, Maine the sunset for Standard time is 6:18. It is not dark at 6:18 since we still have to deal with civil twilights. So with that it is dark, usually 30 minutes after sunset so it would have been 6:47 p.m. It would have been completely dark. Yes, the more East you go it will get darker earlier which is actually normal. The more West you go the more later it is Let's try New York. Sunset is at 7:29 but it doesn't get dark till 7:57 so they have an extra 30 minutes of daylight after sunset It's going to get darker earlier no matter what. It's called nature. It's called seasons. We will lose an evening of sunlight from June 19th to August 31st. You cannot control it but what you can control is what time you can go in for work. Tell your boss so you need to change your availabilities that you can only work mornings so you can have that extra hour of sunlight in the evening. If people start realizing that people can wake up earlier without forcing anyone to wake up earlier and let others sleep, this country would have been doing so much better. Everyone will get what they want. People can sleep the people who wants to have evening in sunlight. They can wake up earlier. Start their day earlier and have their evening sunlight at the end of their day that they wanted. Majority of the people wakes up at 6:30 a.m. which this daylight is mostly needed is at 6:30 a.m...... Morning light is useful even if you are sleeping because morning daylight is preparing you to wake up at normal time that you need without an alarm. Here is a time lapse video of Latrobe August 31st sunset that my friend Derek made youtu.be/RbOzbQApRYY?is=u6n8… – at McChesneytown-Loyalhanna, PA
Sunset in Latrobe, PA, on August 31 this year was 7:50 pm. That’s still summer. Under Standard time it would be 6:50 pm. Dark. Before 7 pm. In August. And remember that Latrobe is on the WESTERN side of the Eastern time zone. People who work until 5 pm and then drive home, etc., would have about one hour of outside time before it’s dark. One hour. That’s it. One hour to get in a walk, cut your lawn, play ball with your kids, etc., and forget about the ice cream truck driving around at 7:15 and running outside with those little ones for a post-dinner treat. And if you live farther East (say Philly, NYC, Boston, Maine, etc.), sunset is even earlier. In Portland, Maine, sunset would be 6:18 p.m. on that same night. Dark that early. In August. In the summer. That’s insane. So why would anyone want to move an hour of sunlight to a useless time early in the morning when 95 percent of the world is sleeping instead of keeping a meaningful hour of natural light in the early evening when 99 percent of the world is awake and wanting to live and enjoy life? That’s not a claim. That’s a fact.

So happy to debunk this person's claim . My latest Sunset is at 7:51 p.m. (or 8:51pm DST) in Latrobe PA. That's where I'm located and my friend. The photos has been taken on June 19th, 2 days before summer solstice. The sunset for June 19th was at 7:50 p.m. (or 8:50pm DST) as you can see this in these photos that is still light past 7:30 p.m. But this user said it will be dark at 7:30 even though Sunset is at 7:50 ("Starting to get Dark") How does that make sense? End of my civil Twilight is at 8:23 p.m. But guess what? You can still see the blue skies but after 8:30pm as you can see here . So we still have light after 8:00 here in Western Pennsylvania Sunsets after 7:30 p.m. under Standard time is May 19th till August 2nd ( 2.5 months / 76 days) Civil Twilight (completely dark) after 7:30 p.m. under Standard Time is April 20th till August 24th ( 4.15 months / 127 days ) (Civil Twilight after 8:00 pm is also 4.15 months) The heart of Summer is around August 6-7th Sunsets after 7:00 p.m. under Standard Time is April 19th till August 25th ( 4.25 months / 129 days) Civil Twilight after 7:00 p.m. under Standard Time is March 23rd till September 11th (5.7 months / 173 days) Sunsets after 6:30 p.m. under Standard Time is March 21st until September 12th. Civil Twilight after 6:30 February 23rd to September 28th so that's like 7 months right there. Last one Sunset after 6:00 from February 21st to October 1st and Civil Twilight after 6 is January 28th until October 18th So there is a lot of sunshine to enjoy and I'm glad to debunk this person's claim So we just learned today that in Latrobe, PA that it's still light after 7:30 late April to late August passed the point of a heart of the summer. Still have Sunset past 7:00 in August.... And it doesn't get dark until after 7:00 in the middle of September nearly fall School doesn't start until the last week of August so Sunrise and sunset for that day is 5:44 a.m. to 6:50 p.m. under Standard Time I'll rest my case – at McChesneytown-Loyalhanna, PA
And under permanent Standard time, sunset would be 7:51 pm on one of the longest days of the year. Which means it starts getting dark before 7:30. And then comes August — still in the heart of summer — when it would already be getting dark BEFORE 7 pm. Try selling that insanity to normal Americans.

You DST supporters freak out about Sunrise at 4:30 a.m. In the morning? Are you kidding me? This is nothing. I know other places will get sunlight before 5:00 which should not matter to almost anyone but holy cats. This was on July 1st in Latrobe PA. The founder of football and the banana split Sunrise for that day was at 5:50 a.m. On DST Or 4:50 a.m. Standard time. To me, you have no ground to stand on when it comes to this kind of stuff. It's actually healthy to have it on standard time. It should not matter if it gets light at 4:15 a.m.

Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas, who is a Republican made the right decision to block the sunshine protection Act bill. You might not realize that, but he is saving us all from the dreading 8:00 morning darkness, majority of Americans wake up at 6:30 or already up. Yeah, a 4:30 Sunset might not feel good but it's only temporarily when you put daylight saving time into the winter time you'll have 7:40 to 9:50 A.m. Sunrise majority of Americans are already up in darkness which is not good When you're on standard time it's more like 6:40 to 8:50 If we fix our time zones to the ideal spot. It'll be more like 6:17 to 8:22 in the morning meaning we will have more Morning Light that we need It would be better for students better for humans for our for safety What Trump did was wrong doxing senator Tom Cotton And that's sad. Trump is only focusing on his golf and business, not for the American people It's time to tell our Congress people to tell them to stop pursuing the sunshine protection Act. It's time to try Standard Time

DST forces everyone to wake up 1 hr earlier. There is not “more daylight”, they just steal an hr from all of us. And they only do it in the summer to condition people to correlate changing clocks w more light. It’s a scam. Stop falling for it.

This just shows that DST supporters does not care about you, your family, or anyone They are miserable, selfish, crazy, misinformed people. I must warn you guys that they are just making up stuff to fit their logic. They have no proof of anything. They have no proof on the health standards, The sun and mental health. They want to be selfish people. They can't let anyone sleep or be healthy. They cannot go the extra mile to wake up 1 hour earlier like we're doing right now in the dark And go to work earlier. They want to make everyone to suffer DST SUPPORTERS THINK IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM THAT IS SELFISHNESS, ITS NOT ALL ABOUT THEM!!!! They don't have any logic behind their statements.... People don't have seasonal depression because of being on standard time because of early sunsets. People have seasonal depression because of no Morning Light and lack of light in general. Like in Russia people are more depressed when it's on DST. Plus we already tried it in 1974 in the United States and almost everyone hated it

Miserable and selfish??? Look in the mirror!!! You nitwits have zero regard for those that actually want to be outdoors and enjoy the light...and that free time is the evening!!! "Standard" time is only 4 months...less than half the year. People are miserable. Most Seasonal affective disorder occurs during "standard" time.

Both of them are right. It shouldn't matter if Sunrise is at 4:30 a.m. In the morning. It shouldn't matter if Sunset is before 5:00 p.m. In Winter from October to February. What should matter is our health and safety. And history. Because of our kids we are better off on Standard time. DST supporters are lazy and brainwashed that has nothing better to do. And sadly they want to make everyone miserable because of them want to be selfish. Standard time supporters. It's time to rise up and take control. This election whoever supported DST vote them out!!!!
Senator Cotton is right. Permanent Daylight Savings has been tried and Americans didn’t like it. The better way is permanent Standard Time because it’s based on science. No dark mornings, it keeps our time in sync with the Sun, and no more changing the clocks. Arizona has been on Standard Time year round since 1968 without issue.

No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter. Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first.

It’s much easier to live with the sun rising and setting instead of forcing more daylight which in the winter means waking up in the dark

Americans agree that switching clocks 2X a year is bad, but locking the clock on Daylight Saving Time is worse! Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. That's why I introduced the Sunshine for our Kids Act.
Did the U.S. try yearlong daylight saving time before and hate it? Yes. Polling showed it wasn’t popular, and what was meant to be a two-year trial ended in a few months. buff.ly/QvGwpxG
