As a CFR myself, I disagree... We have decades of experience actually doing the job.
The problem with most officers is that they're always chasing the points. Gotta get their "A" job so they can get the points to be promoted.
It doesn’t have to be military service. Any civil service for a set amount of hours, to build pride in your community. Cleaning up parks or woodlands is a good example… 🤷♂️ There are many different types of service.
The fact people can’t wrap their heads around this is kinda crazy. It doesn’t matter to us who’s elected. In a 35 year career, we could see 10 different governments… 🤷♂️
We also get paid what’s called a “military factor” which is compensation for losing some of our rights. Most of which you’ve already listed. Disparaging our government is another one. We’re not allowed to have public political opinions. 🤷♂️
I’m not exactly sure how it works in the US, but in 🇨🇦, when we sign up, we sign up under what’s called “unlimited liability” meaning we can be sent into harms way and possibly die to protect our country.
The military is always hiring if you need work… 🤷♂️
There are definitely jobs, but people are lazy and stuck in their ways.
Medals have a lot of hoopla around them. I would be very surprised someone would get this ✌️behind closed doors✌️
