91-year-old Jimmy Russell is the longest-tenured master distiller in the world, best known as “The Buddha of Bourbon.”
Russell is the patriarch of the three generations of Kentucky bourbon distillers at Wild Turkey. His son and grandson, Eddie and Bruce Russell, told @skylerhenry about their connection to America’s native spirit.
Hey! I know these Dudes!
Thanks to @DerbyCityPhil for hosting a special @WildTurkey and @RussellsReserve blind tasting - not to mention an epic bottle share with some truly outstanding whiskeys. If you ever need help with a bourbon event, Phil is your guy.
The More You Know…
By far, still the best Mint Julep recipe. 😁 #wildturkey #jimmyrussell #IYKYK

Preach! If @WildTurkey is listening, this year would be the perfect year to bring this glass back for a limited run. It’ll be Jimmy’s 70th anniversary and I can’t think of a better bottle to honor his noteworthy tenure. Also, Kentucky Spirit was introduced in 1994, making this the 30th anniversary of the expression. Campari, you know what to do! 😉 🥃 🦃

Very cool story from the #606
Martin County doesn’t have a full High School band bc of size and funding
So Pike County Central offered to have their band play for them at the Sweet 16 and will go to Lexington next week to ensure they have music for the game

Like so many of our kindred Kentucky distilleries we are thrilled to contribute what we can by donating to our local first responders and healthcare facilities. They are the true heroes in this fight. #handsanitizer #washyourhands #staysafe #oldpogue #birthplaceofbourbon

After attending @4RosesBourbon Al Young funeral, I hope I can be the father/husband he was. What you know about him from bourbon just know he was a better husband and father. – at Kentucky, USA
