One of the quieter yet significant bills I co-sponsored this session is now law: SB26-088.
It ensures increased funding and proper oversight for maintaining memorials and monuments on State Capitol grounds and in Lincoln Veterans’ Memorial Park.

SB26-135 could lead to $37 billion in new taxes if voters approve it. That works out to about $7,400 for each person.
It would allow excess revenue to be apportioned to some K-12 spending, the rest to be spent on children’s programs, and what’s left can be spent freely.

I’m proud to have sponsored SB25-085, which seeks to minimize the euthanasia of animals used in medical research.
This law gives dogs and cats used in health-related research a real chance at a loving home while respecting the important work of medical research.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Representative Lois Landgraf, who faithfully served House District 21 and the people of Colorado for eight years. Lois was a staple of the Republican Party and a steady, trusted presence in El Paso County, always fighting for commonsense conservative solutions that made our communities safer and stronger. During her time in the House, Lois championed legislation that made our communities safer and stronger. From creating the Training Veterans to Train Their Own Service Dogs pilot program to support veterans living with PTSD, to making sure assault by strangulation is clearly defined in statute and prosecuted as a serious felony, and leading one of the toughest synthetic‑marijuana crackdowns in the country. Her legacy is written into Colorado law and carried forward in the veterans, families, and communities who are safer and more secure because of her work. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and all who loved her.
