Today I was pleased to attend the ribbon cutting for the new Adventist Health ER facility in Highlands Ranch. Thank you to all the medical and health care personnel at Adventist for bringing this addition to our community.

We went back to Wash Park to ask Coloradans about Senate Bill 135, which could raise taxes by $ 7,400 per taxpayer. One mother we spoke to said this bill could interfere with her ability to buy groceries for her family. Check out the responses below⬇️

Last night the Colorado Senate Republicans celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month alongside local community leaders. The event recognized legislators who have supported the Hispanic community. Senators Mark Baisley and @ScottBright4Sen received recognition for bringing Día del Niño to the Colorado Senate for the first time in our state's history. @commish_pelton also received recognition for sponsoring the Tamale Act. We were honored to be a part of this event hosted by @LIBREinitiative.

With the Adams 12 school board voting to close six schools due to low enrollment, the district expects to save millions that can be redirected to core academic programs, educator compensation, and staff retention. Given those localized operational savings, the question is: why are measures like SB26-135 still needed to ask Coloradans for additional public funding? #copolitics cpr.org/2026/10/08/adams-12-…

This week, we highlight District 7 and Senate Minority Whip #JaniceRich. From local businesses and agricultural traditions to outdoor recreation and community gatherings, District 7 has so much to celebrate. Its greatest strength is the people: families, farmers, educators, healthcare workers, and small business owners who help their neighbors and keep our communities moving forward. #CD7 #BetterColorado #COpolitics

Probation for sexual exploitation of a child? The @SummitDailyNews reports that a Breckenridge man received probation after a plea deal for 7 felony counts. Colorado needs meaningful consequences for crimes involving the exploitation of children. The Senate Republicans have run numerous bills in the last few years to do this, and unfortunately most have been voted down by Democrats. Protect our children. Put victims first.

Congratulations @SenSimpsonCO!
Honored to be named a 2026 Legislator of the Year by the @EDCofCO. I’m especially grateful that my work on two bills—expanding affordable homeownership opportunities and reducing unnecessary red tape—was highlighted for helping #Colorado families and communities thrive. Thank you

The CO Senate Republicans remain committed to improving public safety in our state. @Sen_John_Carson is at the forefront of the fight to make our roads safer and recently received a legislative award from The White Line. This organization is working to end fatalities for all vulnerable road users, and we are honored to support this cause.

Coloradans have to live within their budgets, and so should the Democrat-led government they finance. Without accountability, our state risks making serious cuts to key programs like education and public safety.
❌In 2025-26, Colorado’s Medicaid program overspent by 158 million. ❌Medicaid could overspend in 2026-27 by 443 million. ❌Without changes, by 2043 this spending would mean the state government couldn't fund key services like education and public safety. ✅ @SenKirkmeyer and the Senate Republicans remain committed to protecting our most vulnerable while holding government accountable. coloradopolitics.com/2026/09…

Today, the Senate Republicans and Senator Baisley hosted the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at the Capitol. We are grateful for these community leaders and business owners who play an important role in their communities and our state as a whole.

What would $7,000 mean for a Colorado family? It could help pay for a year of groceries, housing, or child care, and cover unexpected costs. If SB26-135 passes, each Colorado resident would lose $7,000 owed to them from TABOR. Families rely on this funding to survive in our high-cost-of-living state. Where do you stand?  #COpolitics #TABOR

Today marks 239 years since the United States Constitution was signed. On September 17, 1787, 39 patriots signed the Constitution. Many risked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor for Independence just years before, during the Revolution, immortalizing the essential principles of the rule of law, separation of powers, and federalism as the foundation of our Republic.

Colorado just lost another major tech headquarters. Optiv Security is moving from Denver to Kansas, following Palantir’s departure earlier this year. While hundreds of Colorado employees will remain remote, the company’s headquarters, executives and future investment decisions are leaving our state. This is another warning that Colorado cannot afford to ignore. Democrats’ high-cost, high-regulation agenda is making it harder to compete. Senate Republicans are fighting to lower costs, cut red tape and make Colorado a place where businesses can start, grow and stay. #copolitics denverpost.com/2026/09/16/op…
