An ELC Conference involving Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) for 34-Cuncolim Assembly Constituency was held at the Conference Hall of CES College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim, in the presence of Shri Rajesh Sakhalkar, Chief Officer, Cuncolim Municipal Council and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 34-Cuncolim AC, Ms. Kshipra Umesh Bapat, Joint Mamlatdar VI, Principals and Nodal Officers of ELCs, Brand Ambassadors, students and BLOs. Shri Rajesh Sakhalkar welcomed the gathering, followed by a presentation by Master Trainer Shri Prashant Gaonkar on the electoral process, polling procedures, EVMs, and the ECINet website and mobile application. Subsequently, BLO Shri Avdhut Talwadkar explained the procedures for filling Forms 6, 7 and 8, covering voter enrolment, deletion of names, shifting of residence, corrections, marking of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and replacement of mutilated or lost voter cards, along with the eligibility criteria for each form. The queries and doubts raised by the participants regarding the application process were addressed by ERO Shri Rajesh Sakhalkar. District Election Officer, South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, reviewed election preparedness and election-related activities with EROs through a video conference. The review covered Special Camps on Voter Enrolment, Sector Officer/Sector Police Officer training, VM-1, AMF data, critical and vulnerable polling stations, rationalisation and other election requirements. EROs informed that Special Camps are functional at all designated locations, with BLOs deployed and camp activities being shared with the media and on social media. Deleted cases have been manually re-verified with reference to the pre-SIR Electoral Roll, with the final list awaiting BLO confirmation. The 28-Nuvem AC, South Goa District, organised an Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) awareness interaction with students of Carmel College, Nuvem and Angel Polytechnic, Verna, focusing on the importance of electoral registration and responsible participation in the democratic process. The session highlighted the role of students as responsible citizens and encouraged them to promote voter awareness, ethical voting and informed participation among their friends, families and communities. Coordinators Mrs. Louise Ann Sequeira and Mrs. Harneet Assi, Master Trainer Mr. Roque Coelho, AERO 28-Nuvem AC Smt. Sampada Faldessai, Election Clerk Mr. Rahul Naik and BLOs of 28-Nuvem AC were present. The students were also given a demonstration on using ECINET on their mobile phones for filling Form 6 for inclusion in the Electoral Roll.
