The fracking ban will be scrapped on Thursday, as per @benrileysmith, with planning requests for new drilling expected within weeks. Yet this is what new chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng wrote on March 6 👇🏼

Govt sold 260 courts. Then restricted days judges sit to save money on courts + legal aid. And cut legal aid rates by 40%. Then required barristers to do a lot of work for no pay. Then refused to implement recommendations of its own review.
And Raab is furious with barristers?!

The UK-Australia trade deal poses a huge threat to British farmers. It undercuts our food standards and, as @Ladiesinbeef1 highlighted, is like Christmas for Australia.
Today I challenged the Govt on why they hadn’t brought the full deal before Parliament for proper scrutiny.

Minimum wage wouldn't exist in 96, when she was 16, for another 3yrs.
McDonald's paid £3.25 p/hr in 97 for over-18s so she'd have been on less than that. But let's say £3.25.
Personal allowance in 96 was £4,000, so she'd have paid nothing on that. That's 24 hrs p/week tax-free.

🗣️Kemi Badenoch: I know what it's like flipping burgers at 16, on minimum wage, and then watching my pay slip away to taxes. What I want to do is cut fuel duty but we need to look at why the cost-of-living is rising and the problem is inflation

Sunak apparently wants to “scrap EU red tape”. There is no EU red tape here. The red tape UK now has is UK imposed, much by Johnson’s Brexit deal which Sunak supported. The best way to “cut red tape” would to reduce Brexit friction and align with EU standards and Single Market. – at Ilford, London

This is all bonkers. The nation faces three crises: the cost of living, the NHS backlog and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Tory “leadership” candidates have yet to say a word on these and instead bang on about tax cuts when they voted for tax hikes only weeks ago.

Boris Johnson did not "get Brexit done". He did what Thersa May thought no British PM would ever do and put a border in the Irish Sea. Lied about it. Then when the lies stopped working proposed breaking the international treaty he had agreed to a mere 2 years before.
