But there is an asterisk. Make it like regill from WOTR, have nuances to theirs characters. Regill is a great example. You may hate them if you run chaotic characters or good, but you understood where the disagreement came from.

One thing I desperately want from modern RPGs: STOP MAKING EVERY COMPANION NICE. Give me assholes. Give me people who disagree with me. Give me companions who leave. Give me romances I can completely fuck up. Give me characters I genuinely hate.. and let me be nasty to them too. Friendship should feel earned - not automatic, and personalities should be as varied as the environments.
