1. I don’t often tweet about my personal life, but on 1st November, my mum Jane was hit by a large vehicle as a pedestrian in St. Louis, USA. She suffered a severe brain injury & remains in a coma in hospital. Here's Jane & me in happier times.

The truth is that Simon Harris’s painful social awkwardness was hidden behind a bank of megabucks PR people and an incestuous Dublin media full of spouses, partners, pals and nepohacks. Exposed to the public, his lack of a life outside politics is cruelly exposed.

When the verdict came down in the Ulster rugby trial, I happened to be doing some work with Women's Aid. When that verdict came down, I had meetings cancelled, as aid workers dealt with women starting to withdraw complaints, in light of seeing the lack of justice.

With the #ConorMcGregor case, National Rape Crisis saw a huge influx in people reaching out for support. These 'celebrity' cases really do matter. They show women how much support or respect they might get. Reporting rape is terrifying but seeing accountability helps.

I know politics can be a harsh place, but the bar is on the floor if picking up sheets of paper is seen as more than just basic decency.
Mary Lou caught out simply being a nice person when she thought the camera was on a different speaker is just 👌

These are the images that future generations will look at when they marvel at our toleration of abomination. One man has crutches, the other one has an IV bag still attached to his arm.

Gisèle Pelicot is on the stand today and asked about her decision to continue using the surname "Pelicot". Gisèle explains that when the trial began her children were "ashamed" of the name. She adds: "I have grandchildren who are called that. "Today, I want them to be proud of their grandmother. "My name is known across the world now. They shouldn't be ashamed of carrying that name. "Today we will remember Gisèle Pelicot." Yes we will. What a woman. #ShameMustChangeSides

I don't understand how people still say a rape accusation 'destroys a man's life', when a rape conviction and zero repentance hasn't put a dent in the endless comments I'm seeing about Mike Tyson being a legend etc.

With all of the career accolades Mike Tyson is receiving tonight, let’s not forget he is a convicted rapist of a teenage beauty queen from Indianapolis. He spent 3 of a 6 year sentence in prison. Can’t imagine how tonight, and the last 30 years have felt for Desiree Washington.
