I write crime and horror comics. I'm married with two cats. I shaved my COVID beard in 2/25. I like old movies. I don't have any time.

The attempt at Nirvana revisionism I keep seeing on here is hilarious.

1. This is horribly scripted. 2. If this is the reasoning, why isn't Bill Burr going after the post office? Do they fact check ads they distribute?
First clip for Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg in ‘THE SOCIAL RECKONING’. In theaters on October 9.

Hero.
LA moviegoer was arrested after pepper-spraying a man who reportedly refused to stop using his phone during a screening of ‘The Uprising.’ Two other moviegoers were also affected by the pepper spray and required medical treatment.

This post is obviously for engagement, but I will engage anyway. Do it in your backyard, blow up your own balloons with some other cheap $1 store decorations, make your own food/cake with some family bringing sides. Your kid won't know the difference.
It’s impossible to have a “reasonable” budget for just about anything at this point. It’s my youngest daughter’s 1st birthday. So like any decent parents, we’re throwing her a birthday party. We are inviting family and friends and with all the little kids running around these days, it totals ~30 people. Figured we could keep it at or under $500. Nope. - Public park pavilion deposit: $100 - Balloons: $100 - Sandwiches and sides: $450 - Beverages: $200 - Plates & Plasticware: $50 - Birthday Cake + Smash Cake: $200 $1,100 out the door for a modest birthday party. We’re happy to do it and it’s great gathering with friends and family but gone are the days of budget friendly anything.

A frame-by-frame stop-motion recreation of the Beastie Boys’ iconic “Sabotage” video by independent animator Corduroy Frames. Five years of work. 4,340 hand-animated frames made from card stock, foam, cardboard, tin foil and cotton balls. No AI. Just pure obsessive craft.

I couldn't play it, but I couldn't keep my eyes off this game at the arcade.
Imagine seeing this for the first time in 1983! In terms of graphics, this wasn’t just miles ahead… it was basically a whole other dimension. Yes, the difficulty level was insane, but even just seeing one more screen or getting past one more trap was so worth it.

Those looks pretty good, but if they arent careful, the performance can easily fall into caricature as Stallone is such one-of-a-kind dude.
His whole life was a million-to-one shot. I Play Rocky, based on the incredible true story, starring Anthony Ippolito - only in theaters this November.

Should have been a TV series. It still could, but it would be hard to replace Scott Bakula.
The very brief flashback we get of the Brooklyn exorcism is evidence enough that we were robbed when we didn't get a whole series of Harry D'Amour movies.

I've noticed that the more cosplay there is at a convention, the harder it is to sell comics.

I love practical effects so much.
For 30 seconds, CLIFHANGER convinces you this is a real mountain. The camera pullback doesn’t expose the trick. It proves how good the trick is. An enormous matte painting by Michelle Moen made the illusion possible. A beautiful practical VFX shot.

This is so well done. I want to see this version.
This is the best looking fan edit version that looks very professional and authentic. Presented in black and white with the actual 35mm print of the movie. Strongly recommended! Thank Mr. Midnight Ghost for this incredible hard work for #Batman89. Tim Burton would have loved it!

All classics.
MTV let animators go wild with some insanely gruesome animated idents from the late 80s to mid 90s...

Kickstarter's given me a lot over the years, and I've always felt a responsibility to pay it forward to other independent creators making the leap of faith to bring their stories to life. This marks a milestone I'm especially proud of, as a member of the Kickstarter community.

Comics are a collaborative work. When I'm at conventions I'm always promoting the artist as a big part of my spiel. Maybe these guys aren't talking indies. But as the writer I have lived with the story for months, sometimes years before I hire an artist. I'm paying thousands⬇️
It’s confusing to me that in comics, the writer is given the most credit in a similar way a director gets the most credit of a film. When really, the comic artist is the one retelling the story in their own vision, much like a director retells the writers story in their own vision for a film. A writer in film or comics does not write the visuals. The comic artist and director tell the story visually. Knowing this would change the perception of what a comic artist does. A director can make or break a good screenplay. A comic artist can make or break a good comic script. I guess I explained it. Sorry Chris, I didn’t follow your rules exactly. 😆

to get the thing made, I'm creating the logo, I'm formatting the book and putting together the interiors, I'm running the campaign (in most cases/not all), I'm working with the printers and other merch makers, and I'm the guy doing most of the promo. I'm putting the elements⬇️

together to make it all work. But like I said, comics are a collaboration, and I make sure everyone buying my comic knows the artists name and how important they are.
