It seems to me that most people are hooked on news items that last about a day or two and are then forgotten about, as other news items replace them, while failing to see how things are evolving and why. That’s not good for anyone. There are big cycles unfolding almost exactly how they have repeatedly unfolded in the past, and they are being missed. If you’re interested in seeing these big cycles presented in an entertaining way, I am offering an overview of them here in my 5-minute animated video, Principles for Dealing with The Changing World Order. And if you'd like to see a more complete picture, you can watch the full 45-minute version here: youtube.com/watch?v=xguam0TK…

Money detached from energy corrupts society. That is exactly what we are living through right now as endless money printing eats away at wages, destroys savings, funds government waste and moves wealth upwards. When money is broken the entire system built around it breaks too.  I love fairy lights and I think they are a beautiful use of energy because they bring joy, warmth and a little bit of magic.  Using energy to secure a global peer-to-peer money that anyone on Earth can use without needing government permission is one of the best uses of energy on the planet. Bitcoin achieves this through Proof of Work by tying money back to energy with a real cost which is exactly what makes it sound, permissionless and decentralised.  When money has a cost it cannot be printed endlessly by governments or banks so it forces discipline back into the system, reduces waste and malinvestment and helps people plan for the long term instead of being pushed into debt, speculation, and short term consumption.  Securing sound money through energy is not waste. It is one of the highest and most important uses of energy humanity can choose right now. Thanks to @CCNCitizens for the conversation.

Call me crazy, but I think parents should determine what their teenagers do online rather than the government. And that governments shouldn't use system-level ID checks to identify and monitor everything.

Classroom 1 of 500 🇸🇻 Since I created Little HODLer, my brand has shifted a great deal towards education; it couldn’t have undergone a more meaningful evolution. The doors were open for us in El Salvador to add our small part to something bigger, and that’s a great privilege.

Pauvre France. Il est temps de la quitter…

Your house is a consumer durable. Continually debasing currency, fiat leverage, and a four decade decline in interest rates, convinced people that it’s an ideal investment. Certain strategic buying in up-and-coming cities (actual good investments/speculation) are the exception.

Unless they want to waste energy and lose contracts with grid operators due to lack of flexible demand status, AI hyperscalers will have no choice but to become Bitcoin mining companies
Energy waste is driven by spiky, unsynchronized demand, especially from AI workloads. MARA CEO @fgthiel and board member Janet George, EVP of AI at @Mastercard, explain how pairing AI with Bitcoin mining can help stabilize consumption and reduce inefficiency.

the CEO of a new french grid operation, Medgrid, doesn't know how bitcoin mining works. And yet he tries to push back against the interviewer. It's interesting as he used to serve as the head of the entire french grid (RTE). the interviewer explains to him how bitcoin mining works (you push a button and it mines) he pushes back at the question saying "yeah but bitcoin mining has to be on continuously (en permanence) to work!" I get this misunderstanding a fair bit in youtube comments. you CAN turn on and off bitcoin miners like light bubls. The moment you turn the miner back on, it hashes immediately, and it could still hash the lucky next block.
