I wanna share some neat numbers I use all the time and what I use them for. Starting with sqrt(0.5), 0.7071... The point on a circle at 45 degrees is at (r*hr, r*hr) where r=radius and hr=sqrt(0.5). To rotate 45 degrees, you can use this 2x2 matrix: mat2(hr, -hr, hr, hr)

since taking on my new role at work, folks outside of my team will ask "so does the lead designer do all the design on the game?" i think it's easy to assume the person with "lead X" in their title gets to do/own all of X. that's pretty far from the case. (cont'd)

wow, i just learned that the farthest oort cloud objects are about 100k astronomical units out. alpha centauri is about 300k. i had no idea oort cloud objects went such an appreciable fraction of the distance to neighboring solar systems.

The MAGA right talks about Black Lives Matter as if it’s some sort of equivalency for 1/6. These talking points have a way of spreading. Let’s correct them every single time. 📚Researchers at Harvard gathered statistics from 7,305 BLM events. Here’s what they found:

10 years ago today, Borderlands 2 launched. Every single person on that team was amazing. We were lucky to all be together in those circumstances to both have fun and make something fun. I still look back on that time with fondness, and I think that feeling will only grow.
