🚨An Open letter to the CodeThreeNews Community: One year ago today, I started this journey not knowing if anyone would care. Today, I am sitting here with a full heart, humbled by the fact that so many of you do. One follow turned into hundreds, then thousands. People began sharing our reports, sending tips, trusting us with information from their neighborhoods, and helping get the word out when something was happening around them. People I had never met took the time to support something I was building from the ground up. I may have started this account, but I did not build this community alone. You helped build it with me, and I want you to know that I will never forget that. I grew up in Boyle Heights. I know what these communities mean to the people who call them home. My years in law enforcement gave me another perspective on the work, the responsibility, and the reality behind what we hear on the radio. Those experiences helped shape the mission, but it is the people who have supported this journey who have given it a life of its own. My promise to you is not perfection. My promise to you is that I will continue to strive for accuracy, transparency, and accountability, because the people who trust this page deserve nothing less. To every person who follows us, thank you. To everyone who reposts our reports so someone else can be informed, thank you. To the people who send tips, share what they see, and trust us with information from their neighborhoods, thank you. To those who check in on me personally, ask how I’m doing, encourage me when things get difficult, and remind me why I started, thank you. To the people who have defended us when we were criticized, stood beside us when things got uncomfortable, and believed in our intentions even when it would have been easier to walk away, I hope you know how much that has meant to me. Some of you have been here since day one. Others found us yesterday. It doesn’t matter when you arrived. If you’ve given CodeThreeNews even a moment of your time, there are no words to tell you how thankful I am. And to @Noticiasenlacalle, thank you for being part of this journey and for helping show what independent voices can accomplish when they work together. I know there is more to do. There are more stories to tell, more communities to serve, and more ways to grow. I don’t know exactly where the next year will take us, but I know what I will carry into it; determination, transparency, and gratitude for every person who has helped make this possible. I will never be too proud to admit a mistake, too big to listen, or too busy to appreciate the people who made this journey worthwhile. And I will never forget that behind every number on a screen is a real person who chose to give a man with a scanner, a phone and a lot of time on his hands, a chance… To everyone who has been part of the first year of CodeThreeNews: from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.

🚨#Pasadena: Police are investigating a shooting that occurred a short time ago at E Glenarm St./ S Arroyo Parkway. One person was reportedly shot, unknown on the status of the victim at this time.

🚨#Watts: Montebello and Whittier Police Officers are on scene in the 2200 block of E 112th St. working a possible barricaded suspect, presumably at the execution of a search warrant. The suspect is refusing to exit the residence.

💥#SouthLA: Scary moments a short time ago after a two car crash sent one of those vehicles into a building near 59th Pl./Broadway. One person was injured and taken to a local hospital.

🚨Watch: LAPD has released video of an Officer-Involved shooting that occurred on September 7th 2026 in #BoyleHeights, Where 44 year old, Zimran Canas was shot and killed. Canas was shot after confronting officers while wielding a pole saw.

That one was also reportedly down this morning as well.

🚨#DowntownLA: If you shop at “One Puff group” near 4th/San Pedro St. they’ll probably be closed for the remainder of the day, Courtesy of the LA County Sheriff’s Department. LAFD arson investigators are also on scene.

❗️Water Rescue Update: Firefighters now believe only three people were in the water, All whom have been rescued via LAFD radio traffic. Reports of a 4th subject are unfounded. LAFD is working on clearing resources.

❗️Water Rescue Update: @LAflyingcameras just caught the rescue of the 3rd Subject. One additional person was reported in the water via LAFD radio traffic.

🚨#VanNuys: LAFD is now working a 3rd reported subject in the water after the previous two were rescued and transported to a local hospital.

🚨#VanNuys: Water rescue update: “One adult female rescued from water near Parthenia St. in stable condition will be transported to a local hospital by LAFD paramedics. One adult male also confirmed in water” “Second patient (adult male), rescued via LAFD helicopter, will be transported directly to a local hospital. LAFD air and ground resources remain on scene to confirm no further patients are in the water.”
