OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting on Fulton Ave near Michelle Dr. The Citrus Heights Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and the Sheriff’s Office are on scene. The suspect has been transported to a local area hospital. More details will be released as they become available. Northbound Fulton Ave is closed at Echo Way, and southbound Fulton Ave is closed at Edison Ave. Expect significant traffic impacts and delays. There is currently no estimated time of reopening. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

🚨#SanDiego Update: SEXUALLY VIOLENT PREDATOR FOUND DEAD AFTER WEEKS-LONG SEARCH Merle Wakefield, 69, a state-designated sexually violent predator, was found dead Monday morning, October 19, in a riverbed near the 4800 block of Fairmount Avenue in San Diego. Authorities had been searching for Wakefield since September 25, after he reportedly removed his GPS monitoring device while working in Rancho Bernardo and went missing from California’s Conditional Release Program. According to authorities, Wakefield had prior convictions for lewd or lascivious acts involving a child under 14 by force. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified his body.

🚨#LosAngeles: 5 ARRESTED IN BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division arrested five suspects linked to residential burglaries in Tarzana, Woodland Hills and Downey in February 2026. Detectives seized weapons, ammunition, masks, gloves, handheld radios, Wi-Fi jammers and two vehicles.
