I respectfully disagree with this mentality! Coaches are already overworked and underpaid as it is. Reducing stipends for coaches who don’t have a CDL is the wrong approach and will only push more coaches out of the profession. If districts need more coaches to obtain their CDL, incentivize it through additional compensation rather than penalizing those who don’t have one. Coaches already give countless hours beyond the school day to serve their student-athletes. We should be looking for ways to RETAIN quality coaches, not create more reasons for them to leave the profession! 💯🏈🏀🏌️‍♂️
How does your district encourage coaches to obtain their CDL? ⬇️ During the Fall Forum Q&A session, Mike Bass of @AlvinISD shared how his school structures coaching stipends and CDL requirements: Year 1 ➡️ Coaches have one year upon hiring to secure their CDL. Year 2 ➡️ A 25% stipend reduction applies if not obtained. Year 3 ➡️ A 50% stipend reduction applies for non-compliance. Beyond Year 3 ➡️ Coaches who still do not have their CDL must seek opportunities elsewhere. All Fall Forum TAAC videos are now available on the website to those who registered. Stay tuned for more insights and takeaways from this year's sessions!

Most people in France can't afford housing. They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast. They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.

BREAKING: America’s $1.7 trillion auto loan market is headed for a crash, per Reuters. Auto loans are now one of the biggest sources of household debt, bigger than credit cards. And the strain is showing: 1 in 5 Americans is behind on at least one loan, the highest since 2010, and the average car on the road is now nearly 13 years old, a record.

Finally! So many critics don't see or understand the value tactically this can be if you are behind late in a game. Teams can continue to play zone if they are still behind and have trouble guarding. It also eliminates holding the ball if you are ahead.
The UIL approved a mandated 35-second shot clock for basketball starting in 2028-29 school year for 6A and 5A, with other classes to adopt it in following years. 6A and 5A schools would have the option to use it in the 2027-28 school year. @SportsDayHS @uiltexas @Tabchoops @dctf

Today in dystopia, the military-industrial complex is reassuring investors that the wars will indeed be endless.
Asked about the Iran War's effect on defense stocks, Lockheed Martin CEO says: "Investors need to know and understand that this demand is not fleeting — it's permanent."

Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas hands his 21-year-old son a check for $10,000. "Okay. You're on your own," Kirk says. Michael looks at the check. "That's great, Dad, but I still have two years of college tuition left." Kirk doesn't care. The lesson has started. The bank is closed. For the next 30 years, Kirk Douglas proudly brags to his other children and everyone who would listen: "Michael never asked me for another dime. I gave him that money, and that was it. I made him a man." He believed his extreme tough love had worked perfectly. Until Michael finally sat him down three decades later. "Dad, you remember those beautiful, soft Italian leather suitcases you bought me for Christmas back then?" Michael asked. "Yeah," Kirk smiled. "Well, I found out that each suitcase could hold exactly 22 kilos of marijuana." To pay his tuition and survive his father's brutal lesson in self-reliance, Michael became a drug smuggler. He moved product across the country using the exact same bags his father bought him. Society glorifies tough love. We are told that cutting the safety net and applying maximum pressure is the only way to build true character. But when you push someone to the absolute edge, they don't always learn the moral lesson you intended. Sometimes, they just learn how to survive by any means necessary.

Video game sections at stores are now skimpy, kids channels have 3 shows, 51% decline of children playing out as opposed to the 1990s, less people celebrate Halloween.. Genuinely one of the worst times in life experience a childhood.
Nickelodeon and its sister network Cartoon Network now each have just 3 ongoing shows: Nickelodeon: • SpongeBob SquarePants • The Loud House • The Patrick Star Show Cartoon Network: • Teen Titans Go! • Regular Show: The Lost Tapes • We Baby Bears

I said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the reasons why so many things aren’t as good as they used to be is that we fired people who cared and were good at their jobs and replaced them with people who aren’t good at their jobs
‘The Incredibles’ Director Brad Bird Says Disney Fired Him for Defending the Studio’s Original Creative Values “I was trained by the old guys or mentored by them. Those are the guys that I was amazed by when I got to Disney. The guys that were in charge after those guys left were the guys who basically had been there for 20 years, but they were not good enough to rise to the top... And I essentially got fired for sticking up for the stuff the old guys taught me to value.” -Brad Bird

Columbus didn’t, “discover” America. People were living here. Columbus wasn’t even the first European to travel to the Americas. Viking explorers led by Leif Erikson were — nearly 500 years earlier. I’m sorry that facts hurt your feelings and narrative.
The Left’s institutional and cultural arsonists want you to hate the Italian explorer who discovered America. But historical accuracy and the facts should still matter. It’s important to remember the TRUTH about Columbus Day. ⬇️ dailysignal.com/2017/10/06/t…

This is how empires fall: the ruling class loots the treasury, privatizes the gains, socializes the losses, and obscures the wreckage while those responsible plan their escape. The public inherits the debt, the ruins, and the bill. The empire isn't broken. It's being plundered.

Got hit with a sudden $2,900 emergency room bill last month. called the hospital billing office to ask for an itemized breakdown before paying a dime. rep on the phone said: 'sure, we can mail that out, but your account is currently coded under our uninsured hardship discount.' two days later, the itemized bill arrives in the mail. the total jumped from $2,900 to $8,400. i called back completely confused. the rep calmly explained: 'requesting an itemized review removes the automatic hardship adjustment. you are now billed at our standard chargemaster rate.' a $4,600 penalty just for asking to see what services were actually performed. healthcare pricing in this country is an extortion racket where demanding transparency triggers a financial attack.

Agree 💯 Newspapers are far from perfect, but losing the watchdog of these communities is sad and scary. By the way, the Amarillo Globe-News is still publishing. Not sure where the closure story came from. Down to one sports writer in Amarillo. Rest done out of Lubbock/nationally
Local papers’ closures are being ignored by and large. (Not saying this just because I write for one.). Local media = foundational to an educated populace. National news is great, but the decisions that most closely affect you (school boards, city councils) fly under that radar
