I’m sure Carla, given her sudden obsession with paramilitary involvement, will be firing off an equally strongly worded letter demanding to know whether the UVF or UDA were involved in the protest at Scarva, particularly the men she stood beside, will you share that when it happens please?
And while she’s at it, perhaps she could investigate whether paramilitaries were involved in recent loyalist protests too. In fact, why stop there? Let’s apply the same scrutiny to every parade and protest across NI, thinks it’s only fair that we know who is involved in these events, absolutely
You’re absolutely right. We need answers. All of us. Not just when it suits a particular political agenda.
Or perhaps someone could ask Carla about the cost of living, rising household bills, fuel prices and the actual issues affecting her constituents.
Can people not see what the DUP are about? They can’t operate as a party unless there is conflict, they were born out of it. Controversy after controversy, they toxic, sexual assault, fraud, homaphobia, misogyny, discrimination, sectarianism, should I go on? Ask yourself why we have heard little from the usual mouth pieces, Sammy anyone?
But no, apparently another round of selective outrage takes priority. The DUP’s backwards politics only deepen the division, entrenching people in the past instead of offering a vision for a shared and forward looking future

Devastating news this morning. One of the Portadown District LOL members finally arrived home last night to find he'd left the immersion on for nearly 2 weeks.

💥⛔️ BREAKING GARVAGHY: Secretary of State Sir @RhonddaBryant has BANNED the parade.
Statement from the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Sir Chris Bryant MP:
“Everyone wants to see an end to the stand-off between the Portadown District Loyal Orange Lodge and the residents of the Garvaghy Road as soon as possible.
“I have spent the last fortnight trying to get a mutually acceptable agreement between the two sides, hosting several rounds of negotiations at Hillsborough Castle last week and maintaining frequent contact with both sides since then.
“Unfortunately it has not been possible to achieve a local resolution. I have therefore been intensively considering all options for bringing this dispute to an end.
“I don’t think anyone wants to see the stand-off continue into another weekend, with the consequent risk of protests spreading to other parts of Northern Ireland and the further deterioration of community relations. Nobody wants a return to the past, which is why people want this stand-off to end - and end soon.
“Earlier today the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland made an application to me under Section 9 of the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act.
“As required by law, I have now reviewed the initial determination made by the Parades Commission relating to the application made by the Portadown District for 27 September, 2026.
“I have consulted the Chief Constable and the Parades Commission.
“The Chief Constable has advised me that it would not be possible to enable the procession to happen without a major intervention which would carry an unacceptable risk of serious injury, disorder and a wider contagion effect across Northern Ireland.
“The Parades Commission have also advised me that ’While ultimately a matter for the courts to determine, the Commission is of the view that, in light of this current assessment by the Chief Constable, the original determination does not now have enduring legal effect.
“Consequently, and in the interests of wider public interest and safety, I’ve come to the conclusion that the circumstances under which that decision was made have now changed considerably.
“As a result, the procession cannot go ahead as it was determined.
“I have not taken this decision lightly. As the courts affirmed, the Portadown District had a lawful determination from the Parades Commission allowing the procession. I want to thank the Portadown LOL No 1 for their peaceful and law-abiding approach and their co-operation at all points with the PSNI.
“Respect for the rule of law is fundamental to our society and I am grateful to those who have behaved peacefully and legally and sought to ease tensions in their respective communities. Those who have acted unlawfully should face the consequences of their actions.
“I am also grateful to all those who took part in good faith in the negotiations at Hillsborough. I heard the concerns of people on all sides and I only regret that we could not reach a compromise on a way forward and that many residents across Portadown have felt anxious and worried.
“With this in mind, I call for all protests, rallies and demonstrations to be stood down. There is no excuse for a continued ratcheting up of tensions.
“The community in Portadown has been on the sharp end of intense attention for a number of weeks. It will take time to rebuild relations. The least we can all do now is give them breathing space. Looking ahead we will need to work together to help repair the damage that has been done and to resolve this issue.
"I will continue to do all I can to bring the community together over the coming weeks and months."
"Let Them Home" without a hint of irony that they can perfectly well get home while they attempt to stomp over other people's rights in their actual houses

stephen nolan is priceless...to paraphase: "we don't want get into criminal accusations on live radio" before cutting the caller off....and almost in the same breath, "gerry carroll, I put it to you that you broke the law on sunday".
Just curious, if this is a live investigation, why is Nolan happy to implicate Sinn Féin politicians but when Jim Shannon is brought up for example he won't talk about it because it's a live investigation. Is this not double standards
PSNI chief Boutcher says he won't bow to mob rule...

Unionist playbook.
1. Call Orange march without required 28 days notice.
2. Parades Commission approve 2 days before.
3. Force nationalist residents into legal appeals on Saturday.
4. Run down clock so they can't notify protest.
5. Declare protest 'illegal', let riot cops loose.

If you are genuinely a Christian organisation then you would not insist on parading down a road whose residents, with very good reason, have asked you not to. So all that carrying a bible to a church carry-on is rank hypocrisy. There is nothing Christian about any of it.

You have to hand it to the DUP—their commitment to traditional family values is always a front-page spectacle.
Gavin spent all of Saturday trying to draw a line under the party's past, only to wake up to this Sunday World splash.
Unbelievable timing !

It's just an innocent and dignified walk to a church which is why we have asked all of our affiliated criminal gangs to confirm they won't carry out any violence if they aren't allowed to do so. Do these people hear themselves?

Unionism has been spooked by the success of the Fleadh bringing people together.
That is why we are seeing the Drumcree dispute being resurrected and LVF flags appearing.
Unionism thrives on perceived “war” and hate.
Young people deserve better, they will have to vote for it 🗳️

"The DUP are running rings around Sinn Fein". Former leader in jail, current MP charged with assaulting a woman and now big Sammy is under investigation (again) by the parliamentary standards committee. Be interesting to see what the DUP doing badly looks like to the local media

A Minister was found to have breached the Ministerial code and it’s not Andrew Muir.
I can only assume that everyone calling for the Andrew to resign also called on Gordon Lyons to resign over the attack on Larne Leisure Centre? #Hmmm
