Perfect distillation of how you’re viewed by others if you’re unlucky enough to get hit with an infection that gives you a disabling chronic illness.

"No one’s sitting around bashing this guy or even worried about him, for that matter. In our minds, we’ve moved forward with the players that we have here... you can’t sit and worry about spoiled milk.”

RVA Kids Santa Fund: For years, my dad put on the red suit so Richmond kids with incarcerated or unhoused parents knew they weren't forgotten. Since he passed in 2024, it takes all of us to fill his boots. Be the magic someone needs this holiday season!
Last year, we got 3,200+ toys, bikes, and winter coats to kids in need.
$25: Fuels a Christmas Dinner Basket for a family.
$50: "The Winter Warmth Pack" (1 new winter coat + 2 toys).
$100: Helps sponsor a child's holiday shopping spree.
$500 (Community Partner Tier): Adopts a full block/group of 10 children (includes a public shoutout on our platform).
We are dedicated to bringing happiness to these children, and your generosity is the greatest gift they could possibly receive. No act of kindness is too small.
If you can't give, a quote-tweet puts us in front of someone who can. Link to donate is in the post below. #RVAKids #Christmas #ToyDrive
This Holiday Season please consider making a donation to help a child in need. The thought of any kid waking up on Christmas morning without a gift is heartbreaking. All children deserve a great #Christmas. #RVAKids #ToyDrive gofund.me/e6eec2785

This quote is enlightening.
By the way, it’s called Long Covid you ignorant pricks.
This is also how your average coworker feels about you…and it’s just another reason to mask.
You want to risk your quality of life for this garbage? They DGAF about you.

My sister also has POTS. You suddenly and indefinitely can’t regulate things that should happen automatically (heart rate, circulation, energy, body temp, digestion, etc.)
No answers. Treating symptoms is hit/often miss. Truly awful, life-altering. Empathize so deeply with KP.

I lack the vocabulary to adequately express just how much this disgusts me
Spotify just announced a feature that could either save the music industry or destroy it.
Starting as early as Q1 2027, Spotify Premium subscribers will be able to use AI to transform any participating artist’s song into a completely different version. Turn a folk ballad into a dance track. Make a hip-hop song sound acoustic. Generate a cover where one artist’s voice performs another artist’s song. Remix a pop hit into lo-fi study music. Create the version of your favorite song that only existed in your head until now.
The remixes will be uploaded directly to Spotify. They’ll appear in playlists. They’ll count toward the original song’s chart position. And most importantly the original artist will earn royalties every time someone listens to a fan-created remix of their work.
Spotify has already signed a landmark licensing deal with Universal Music Group the world’s largest record label. Negotiations with Sony Music and Warner Music are ongoing. The feature will cost an additional $4–$5/month on top of Spotify Premium. And analysts project 7–8% of American subscribers will adopt it by 2028.
This is not Suno or Udio generating music from text prompts. This is fans remixing real songs by real artists with the artists’ permission, on the world’s largest streaming platform, with royalties flowing back to the creators.
A music industry analyst who’s covered streaming economics for 15 years told her team something after reading the licensing agreement that reframed how she understood the future of recorded music.
“Spotify just turned 640 million listeners into 640 million potential remixers. The question isn’t whether people will use it they will. The question is whether paying artists for fan remixes solves the economics of streaming or creates a world where the original recording is worth less than the infinite remixes generated from it.”
Here’s what Spotify’s AI remix feature actually is, who wins, who loses, and why this might be the most consequential decision in the music industry since the launch of streaming itself 🧵

Someone quoted one of my tweets about the pandemic and said it's almost 2027.
Yeah, jackass. And we're STILL ignoring a pandemic.
There are over a million new Covid cases PER DAY. Right now.
Those are the facts, not our fault you're in denial.

All across the internet people mock young women for trying to share their experiences struggling with POTS. Now an NBA star, after attempting multiple times to return to play w the illness, is retiring due to it (like from LC). Will they mock him too? Laziness & deconditioning?

maybe why you’re hearing tons of people talk about memory issues, attention issues, driving issues, brain fog, cognitive/learning/behavioral issues across all age groups now. but like, probably just the phones we’ve had for years & not the brand new virus everyone keeps catching

This is why you should wear a mask. Because this is how former friends, colleagues and employers will speak about you when a virus disables you and you no longer have any social, cultural or labor value to extract. Sick, alienated capitalist society

A disturbing thing about this pandemic is the collective refusal to acknowledge reality and harm being done. There is no harm, and no one is responsible. There is nothing to be done about a pandemic with an airborne virus, and if there is something to be done, it's on you.

Your estimated number of infections per person is always too low to me lmao like I genuinely think most people have been infected at least once a year

I started the trend of masking at my job and now when anyone's sick or feeling sick they mask! I've seen it over five times now. Yay :)

If our water tested positive for cholera, would we stop boiling/cleaning it & instead share it over & over with our children, elders, friends & neighbours?
Now replace cholera with COVID and water with air.
Why do we protect our water but hesitate to protect the air we breathe?

El-Sayed: "One of the more striking aspects of the pandemic is just how unwilling we’ve been to engage in the collective interventions that could mitigate it."
it may be worth recirculating today too that newly elected Michigan Sen. Abdul El-Sayed authored this 2022 article in The New Republic: "Long Covid Is Just Getting Started. We're Not Ready for It.”
