The prayer behind a deviant is not valid according to the madhhab of al-Imām al-Aʿẓam Abū Ḥanīfah.
Imām Badr al-Dīn al-ʿAynī:
“Imām Muḥammad narrated from Imām Abū Ḥanīfah and Imām Abū Yūsuf that praying behind Ahl al-Ahwāʾ is not permissible.”
[Kitāb al-Bināyah Sharḥ al-Hidāyah, 2/333]
This reflects a traditional understanding of ḥayāʾ (modesty), dignity, and the preservation of a woman’s honour. Within the Sunnī tradition, modesty is not merely an outward characteristic; it is a quality of the heart that governs one’s speech, gaze, conduct, and interactions with others.
This Wahhābī, Muḥammad Ḥasan ʿAbd al-Ghaffār, shows disrespect towards Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq!
Muḥammad Ḥasan ʿAbd al-Ghaffār said:
“If Abū Bakr had done such a thing, we would have objected to Abū Bakr and said: ‘Abū Bakr was mistaken.’”
[Source: Muḥammad Ḥasan ʿAbd al-Ghaffār, a video discussion on YouTube]
Notice the lack of respect and arrogance displayed by this man. He imagines that Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (Allāh is pleased with him) would commit an act contrary to the Holy Prophet ﷺ, whereupon this deviant would rebuke Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, the foremost Companion of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ!
These people do not possess even an atom of shame or respect when they make the Ṣaḥābah the subject of hypothetical examples to illustrate their own misguidance and foolishness.
Imagine anyone arrogantly uttering whatever he pleases and then using the Ṣaḥābah as examples! Another deviant then comes along and says: “If ʿUmar had said that, we would have told him: ‘You were mistaken.’” And yet another says: “If ʿUthmān and ʿAlī had said that, we would have told them: ‘You were mistaken.’”
All of this comes from a group that falsely and deceitfully claims to venerate the Salaf and the Ṣaḥābah and to affiliate themselves with them. They imagine the Ṣaḥābah making mistakes and themselves being the ones who would rebuke the Ṣaḥābah!
Know that this wretched sect has no share whatsoever in following the Salaf and the Ṣaḥābah, except for what they merely repeat with their tongues.
If the statement of a Ṣaḥābī agrees with their understanding, they say: “We understand according to their understanding.”
But if it contradicts their understanding, they say: “This Ṣaḥābī was mistaken. He fell into a bidʿah (religious innovation). Even if a Ṣaḥābī had done such a thing, we would have rebuked him for it!”
There is no might nor power except through Allāh.
A Wahhābī once came to Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat, al-Imām Aḥmad Riḍā Khān, with some objections, and Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat responded to him compassionately, without scolding him.
That man had a change of heart and left with the intention of becoming Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat’s disciple.
Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat says:
“See, the benefit that lies in compassion is not found in harshness. If we were to deal with him roughly, he would certainly not have changed his ways.
Those who are confused or undecided should be treated kindly so that they may rectify themselves.
Even with the major leaders of the Wahhābiyyah, we initially treated them with compassion. But when they became obstinate in their deviations, to the point that there was no turning back, we then began dealing with them harshly, as Allāh ﷻ commanded us in the Holy Qurʾān:
‘O Prophet, strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be stern with them.’”
[Sūrah at-Tawbah, 9:73]

'The haqiqa (reality/essence) of the Prophet peace be upon him existed at that time (whilst Adam was between water and clay), even though the existence of the blessed body of the Prophet peace be upon him, which possessed this reality as a characteristic, came later'

Sayyidunā ʿAlī al-Riḍā → Sayyidunā Mūsā al-Kāẓim → Sayyidunā Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq → Sayyidunā Muḥammad al-Bāqir → Sayyidunā Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn → Sayyidunā Imām Ḥusayn → Sayyidunā ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib → Rasūl Allāh ﷺ → Sayyidunā Jibrīl → Allāh Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā.
Muqbil al-Wādiʿī places his own understanding above the consensus of the Ṣaḥābah and treats them as 'Awliyāʾ' besides Allāh:
“If someone were to say: ‘But the Ṣaḥābah reached a consensus on this matter,’ then the response is: Consensus is not a proof (ḥujjah). Rather, the proof is the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ:
‘Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord, and do not follow Awliyāʾ besides Him. Little do you take heed.’”
[Sūrat al-Aʿrāf, 7:3]
[Ghārat al-Ashriṭah ʿalā Ahl al-Jahl wa al-Safsaṭah, vol. 2, p. 147]
Question:
Is there still any rational person who believes their lie that they are followers of the Salaf and understand the Book and the Sunnah according to the understanding of the righteous Salaf? Or are these merely deceptive slogans intended to deceive the ignorant and the common people?
Notice how Muqbil al-Wādiʿī makes following the consensus of the Ṣaḥābah, when it contradicts his own understanding, equivalent to someone following Awliyāʾ besides Allāh, meaning, like the polytheists (mushrikīn).
And this is not surprising, for the Wahhābī al-Qannawjī had previously stated in his book al-Dīn al-Khāliṣ (1/140): “Following the madhhabs through taqlīd is a form of shirk.” So that you may know that accusing Ahl al-Sunnah of shirk and kufr is the product of an entire intellectual system among these Wahhābīs. Some of them state it explicitly, while others are exposed by slips of the tongue.
And Allāh is the One whose help is sought.
At 92 years old, he still makes his way to the masjid to perform the Maghrib prayer.
In this photograph, we see an elderly man from Bosnia making his way to ṣalāh.
Age may slow the body, but a heart attached to ṣalāh continues to move towards Allāh. A beautiful reminder not to take the opportunity to pray in jamāʿah for granted.
May Allāh keep our hearts attached to the masājid and make us steadfast in ṣalāh. Āmīn!
Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn describes Sayyidunā ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ’s testamentary statement as an ijtihād that contradicts the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ, and with which he disagrees.
It is narrated from ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he said:
“When you have buried me, remain standing around my grave for as long as it takes to slaughter a camel and distribute its meat, so that I may find comfort in your presence and know how to respond to the messengers of my Lord.”
[Narrated by Muslim]
Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn said:
“This is an ijtihād on his part (may Allāh be pleased with him), but it is an ijtihād with which we do not agree, because the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ is more perfect than the guidance of anyone else. The Prophet ﷺ did not remain standing or sitting by the grave after burial for as long as it takes to slaughter a camel and distribute its meat, nor did he command his Companions to do so.”
[Sharḥ Riyāḍ al-Ṣāliḥīn, 4/562]
Notice how Ibn al-ʿUthaymīn describes the testamentary instruction of a Companion as an ijtihād on his part that contradicts the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ. He even dares to speak this way about him, saying, “We do not agree with him on this,” as though he were his equal.
What ʿAmr (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, being a Ṣaḥābī, cannot be false. His statement that he would experience a degree of comfort in the grave through the presence of his Companions carries the ruling of marfūʿ, because it concerns matters of the unseen (ghayb), which cannot be known except through the Prophet ﷺ.
But notice the audacity of the Wahhābīs, even towards the Companions of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, whenever something is reported from them that contradicts their understanding. And yet you expect them to leave Ahl al-Sunnah alone? Allāhu al-Mustaʿān!
