In a democracy, perception is reality. You can post all of the rosey economic numbers you want, or even blame Biden for all of it. But the fact remains, the economy broke for Americans in 2020, and nothing anybody has done has made it better.

They're still pulling children from the rubble. The building collapsed because it was previously bombed by the Israel Defense Force. Is this how you want your taxpayer dollars spent? 90% of Gaza is destroyed, with Israel claiming it now has 80% control of Gaza (that yellow line keeps moving). Israel has violated the so-called ceasefire literally thousands of times - yet we hear little about it because the war is apparently "over" ever since Trump established his Board of Peace. No one wants to admit that Board of Peace has been a total failure in the face of Israel's repeated violations, yet Trump is doing nothing to stop them - in fact, he's rewarding Israel by approving a $2.8 billion spending package to send Israel 40,000 tons of bombs, specifically Mark 84 and Blu-117 bombs. For comparison, the biggest US air raid of WWII (Berlin 1945) used 3,000 tons of bombs - a fraction of what Republicans want to send to Israel now, to drop on a population that is already trapped, destitute, and homeless, with an enemy force (Hamas) that's already been largely destroyed. Our youth, who see some things more clearly than the older generations, understand how incredibly immoral all of this is, which is why Ed Sheeran has lost 1 million followers on social media and is now being called a coward for refusing to stand up to billionaire Robert Kraft and defend Macklemore's right to speak for the dying children in Gaza. Polls show Republicans are on track to lose the midterms. Republicans have been absolute cowards in their refusal to defend children dying from IDF bombs while propping up the secular government - run by a power-hungry atheist prime minister - doing it. If they lose, they have no one to blame but themselves.

The Catholic Church teaches FULFILLMENT theology, @GovMikeHuckabee: The New Covenant in Christ fulfills earlier covenants. The Church (body of believers) is the new Chosen People, the New Israel. No one will be saved apart from Christ. The heresy is believing that there are two separate covenants - one with Christians, and one with Jews, as if there are two paths to salvation. There are not.
Strong statement by @Pontifex is mainstream view of Catholics & evangelicals & rebuke to the heresy of “replacement theology.”

Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me, still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down, darkness be over me, my rest a stone; yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! There let the way appear, steps unto heaven; all that thou sendest me, in mercy given; angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
Goosebumps. For all its faults, Western Christian culture is still worth defending.

These Christian pastors had to promise beforehand they wouldn't preach the Gospel. As the website Friends of Zion stated: "Public evangelism, preaching, or distribution of religious literature is strongly discouraged and in some areas prohibited by law."
THIS IS HUGE 🚨🇮🇱🇺🇸 Over 1,000 hand-picked Christian pastors have been brought to Israel for intensive training to defend Israel and combat antisemitism at ANY COST. Now they’ll return home with one mission: shape a NEW GENERATION into unwavering supporters of Israel.

ND tried to join the Western Conference early on, but was opposed by Michigan football coach Fielding Yost, an avowed anti-Catholic whose animus towards Knute Rockne and Catholic Notre Dame prevented it. It was a blessing in disguise. Instead of merely being a Midwest institution, its independence allowed ND to schedule games across the country, leaving not a regional, but a national footprint. GO IRISH☘️
This has to be such a hard statistic to see for the “Notre Dame doesn’t play anyone and should join a conference” crowd

"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself." -Proverbs 26:4 I have no doubt the priest was praying for him the whole time.

"Mother Cyril liked to recount what Sheen had told the [Tyburn Nuns]. He said that it was possible to tell each one's degree of faith in the Real Presence by the way they genuflected." I think there's truth to this. Of course, many Catholics today don't even bother genuflecting when they enter their pew, because many are clueless that Our Lord is present on the altar, and not enough priests are teaching them about the Real Presence. 🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 BREAKING: Troops leaked photos of their wrecked bases to CBS, saying they're "standing there with our eyes closed getting punched in the face" Active service members sent the images anonymously. One soldier's words: "We're not defending these bases. We're just watching them get destroyed." What the photos reportedly show: -Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia: an E-3 Sentry with its tail severed from a charred fuselage -Prince Sultan Air Base: hollowed-out buildings and barracks standing beside untouched concrete T-walls, fortifications built for mortars and grenades in a war fought from 300 miles up -Camp Buehring, Kuwait: rows of trailers destroyed at the main staging area for Army ground troops and armor -Camp Buehring: vehicles burned out in the open -Camp Arifjan, Kuwait: structural damage to a building at the largest American logistics hub in the region -The IG counted nearly 60 aircraft lost and $3.7 billion in equipment across eight countries. Hegseth called the missiles that killed six at Shuaiba "squirters," a word for the odd one that slips past a working defense. These photos say the defense isn't working, and the people inside the wire know it. Source: CBS News / Writer: Daniel

The Holy See has rejected several requests from the Élysée Palace, President Macron regarding Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming visit to France. Below are the rejected requests: • The military welcome will be scaled back, with the Vatican asking that the Republican Guard and drums be avoided. • The Holy See rejected the proposal to award the Pope the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour. • During the Vespers Pope Leo XIV will celebrate at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, Emmanuel Macron reportedly wanted a few private minutes with the Pope inside the cathedral to show him the restoration work financed by France. • The Holy See also declined a request for a state dinner or lunch with Emmanuel Macron. The Vatican appears determined to keep the Pope’s visit focused on its pastoral and spiritual character, rather than political ceremony.

Children who take music lessons develop a larger corpus callosum, the bridge between the two halves of the brain, and the change is permanent. A 2005 review in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences found that early music training produces structural brain changes that persist into adulthood, even if the person stops playing. The review was led by Gottfried Schlaug at Harvard Medical School, one of the leading researchers on music and the brain. He found that children who started instrumental training before age seven had a significantly larger anterior corpus callosum than non-musicians, and the size difference was still visible in adults who had not touched an instrument in years. The corpus callosum carries signals between the left and right hemispheres. A larger one means faster, richer communication between the two sides, and the effect shows up in tasks that have nothing to do with music: spatial reasoning, verbal memory, and the ability to process multiple streams of information at once. The music built the highway, and the brain uses it for everything. Schlaug also found that musicians had larger cerebellums, the region involved in timing and motor coordination, and more grey matter in the areas that process sound. The brain had physically reorganised itself around the demands of the instrument, and the reorganisation was visible on a scan. The age window matters. Children who started before seven showed the largest changes. Children who started after ten showed smaller ones. Adults who took up an instrument for the first time showed the least structural change, though they still showed some. The brain is most willing to be rebuilt by music during the years when most parents are debating whether to sign their child up for lessons. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1659…

According to an informed federal official, in the coming months the Trump administration plans to send a total of 40,000 Mark 84 and Blu-117 bombs to the government of Israel. Each bomb weighs 2,000 pounds. This appears to be the largest transfer of conventional explosive ordnance from the United States in modern history. How big is this shipment? It amounts to 40,000 tons of bombs. For perspective, the largest American air raid of World War Two was the Eighth Air Force’s attack on Berlin in March of 1945. Combined, the 2,023 Allied aircraft involved dropped about 3,000 tons of bombs. That’s 7.5 percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. That same month, March of 1945, the US Army Air Forces began the single most destructive bombing raid in human history, Operation Meetinghouse over Tokyo. More than 100,000 Japanese civilians were killed. By the end of that operation, the US had dropped 1,600 tons of bombs. That’s four percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. World War Two ended five months later, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. The shipment Trump is sending to Israel amounts to more than three times the destructive power of that nuclear explosion. There is no precedent for what the Trump administration is doing. Nor is there a justification. The government of Israel is not fighting World War Two, or even a war. It is engaged in periodic skirmishes with a guerrilla force in Lebanon, and it is working to exterminate an unarmed civilian population in Gaza. Neither front requires modern 2,000-pound bombs. An American-made Mark 84 has a destruction radius of half a mile. It releases a thermal wave the temperature of the surface of the sun. Within 100 feet of the explosion, rock melts and human flesh turns to vapor. The bomb collapses apartment buildings and leaves craters thirty-five feet deep. Until the war with Iran, the US military generally avoided using the Mark 84 in urban areas. It kills too many civilians. For the Netanyahu government, that’s been the upside. In the weeks after October 7, the IDF dropped nearly six hundred 2,000-pound bombs on densely populated areas in Gaza, including on more than 100 officially designated civilian evacuation zones. The slaughter was so grotesque and embarrassing that for a moment the Biden administration paused a shipment of Mark 84s. Those shipments quickly resumed under Trump. Now they’ve accelerated. It’s hard to overstate the scale of the crime the Israeli government is committing in Gaza. Over the last three years, more than a quarter-million Palestinians have been killed or wounded by Israeli forces there. The majority of them have been noncombatants: women, the elderly and tens of thousands of children. Many thousands more remain missing, presumably entombed under the rubble of 200,000 collapsed buildings. So far the Israelis have destroyed 92 percent of all homes in Gaza, and 34 of the 36 hospitals. By comparison, the 1945 Allied bombings of Dresden, now acknowledged as a war crime, destroyed about half of the city’s inhabited buildings. By any definition, what the Netanyahu government has done in Gaza is genocide. The 40,000 new bombs the Trump administration is sending will be used to do the same in Lebanon, and likely in other countries in the region. If you wanted to extend the Iran war into the indefinite future, this is exactly what you’d do. So far none of this has received public scrutiny. At some point, inevitably, it will be described in media accounts as an “arms sale.” It is not an arms sale. It is a gift, funded by American taxpayers through the Foreign Military Financing program, an arrangement designed to disguise welfare as capitalism: Congress appropriates money to the executive branch, which transfers the cash to Israel to “buy” American-made weapons, in this case from General Dynamics. Politicians claim this is a win for America. Most voters have no idea they paid for it. The bill in this case is about $3 billion. Add that to the $352 billion the US Treasury has transferred to Israel since 1951. How did this happen? The request for 40,000 new high-explosive civilian-killing bombs originated at the US Embassy in Jerusalem, which is run by Christian Zionist Ambassador Mike Huckabee and his aide David Milstein, who is the stepson of Fox News host Mark Levin. From there it moved to the State Department, where Marco Rubio enthusiastically approved it. At this point, only four more people need to sign off before the bombs ship to Israel: Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen, the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; and Congressmen Brian Mast and Gregory Meeks, the top two members of the equivalent House committee. All four are committed neocons. Collectively they’ve taken millions from the Israel lobby. In 2015, Brian Mast traveled to Israel to volunteer for the Israeli military. In 2023, Mast showed up in the House of Representatives wearing an IDF uniform. It’s hard to imagine any of them hesitating before sending more free bombs to Israel. Only public outrage can stop this.

Anyone who doesn't understand why the ban existed at all needs to read Belloc's history of the Reformation, and not the revisionist nonsense they teach in UK schools.
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is pressing ahead with plans to remove the BAN on Catholics advising King Charles III on appointments to the Church of England Hindus like Rishi Runak are permitted to advise when Prime Minister, but the law explitly forbids Catholics

VIDEO | "This year, given the current situation, there is no one left from our Christian brothers in the village. We are ringing the bell ourselves, and this bell will keep ringing in the village." On the occasion of the Feast of the Cross, a Muslim resident of the southern Lebanese town of Blat stepped in to ring the local church bell because ongoing Israeli aggression forcibly displaced the village's Christian population: "This country will remain a symbol of coexistence; Muslims and our Christian brothers. Every year on a day like this, there used to be celebrations, and the church bell would ring all night long. This year, given the current situation, there is no one left from our Christian brothers in the village. We are ringing the bell ourselves, and this bell will keep ringing in the village."

This morning Israel bombed a house directly next to my sister’s home. She and her children were terrified. This is the third time this has happened to them, including when Israel bombed the church where they were taking shelter, leaving them lightly injured, including my youngest nephew, who was born during this genocide. @jaredkushner , I saw a video of you claiming the current “ceasefire” is good for Palestinians, but how do I explain this to my terrified young nephews as they are being bombed? Let’s be honest: a ceasefire does not exist right now—only a Hamas ceasefire (whom I despise, by the way). Israel continues to murder our people, and you do not seem to care at all.
