Two states, two veering on hemp in light of the looming federal ban:
NJ passed a bill extending sales an extra four weeks to December.
The IL Department of Revenue says that all hemp-derived products containing >0.4mg of THC will be classified as "cannabis" under state law and can only be sold through regulated cannabis channels. Enforcement kicks in on November 12.
The federal ban lands in December, unless Congress steps in.

It’s 2026: people are criticized for wanting to keep THC on the shelves.
What boggles my mind is that some of the criticism is coming from people who seemed perfectly supportive of THC being sold on store shelves… just not at convenience stores.

I'm obviously biased in favor of the value of my own work but:
I don't think enough of you guys are understanding and appreciating the fact that the *ONLY* reason you know what DEA said in its most recent cannabis rescheduling brief is because I obtained it from a source who has access to the non-public docket and put it out there for you to read.
It has not been—and I did not expect it to be—officially posted by DEA on the public page that does post the judge's orders and certain other documents.
