A lot of people are complaining about return to office (RTO) policies.
Companies should understand this.
No one wants to commute 1-2 hours each way to an office to have virtual meetings all day.
Get home when your kids are already asleep and repeat multiple days a week for the next 30 years.

That's the 1 point I've been railing on for 3 years. If companies aren't completely redesigning how they operate for remote first & investing in doing it right...Don't bother.

Async is the foundation of so much of the #futureofwork. Hiring globally, the 4-day work week, better #employeeexperience & so much more. Without embracing async, these items above will only hurt your #remote #companyculture

"Leaders" who claim remote work can't work bc it's impossible to build culture in a distributed environment are building for the past 100 years, not for the coming 5-10 years. This is already being done at scale and you're getting left behind. Time to adapt.
Joe Giglio, Chief Remote Officer retweeted
Companies that adopt an async-first approach don't think synchronous work is bad.
They just think it's overused.
Instead of defaulting to using sync activities (like meetings) for everything, they use it only when it would be beneficial.
The default is async.

Midday I love to disconnect & spend time w/ my family, exercise, eat well & then return for the afternoon in an amazing space mentally. This is what a lunch break can look like when you’re not confined to an arbitrary 60min block, and it’s only possible bc we work asynchronously. – at Valencia, Spain
