Some big news I've been sitting on for a few weeks: I'm honored to be named as @TheInlander's next editor (and first woman in the role!). We have a great team in place, and I'll be leading the paper alongside @SAWohlfeil, our new news editor.

Bronzo IS the best! If you haven't met him before, or given him a snoot boop in awhile, do it now. As you do, check out this awesome new, interactive public art tour feature from @VisitSpokane and @SpokaneArts.

World, meet YOKU! I loved the game #YokusIslandExpress and its adorable little buggy protagonist sooo very much I had to make my own Yoku! @YokuGame @Team17
Yoku was made with @SculpeyPolyform, painted with craft acrylics. His backpack was hand sewn by me, and his party horn is made from paper and cardboard. His ball is painted styrofoam.
Omg. I was just recognized by the @SPJWash for my piece about the Hanford B Reactor's 75th anniversary last fall! 😊

This coming Monday, May 18, is the 40th anniversary of the #MountStHelens eruption. I spent the past 2 weeks researching and interviewing people in the Inland Northwest who experienced it and its aftermath for the cover of this week's @TheInlander.

Anyone surprised by this @WSU study's results?

Reason no. 134 to keep your sweet kitties indoors:
"Her latest research, yet to be published, has used DNA to confirm that cats form at least a fifth, if not more, of coyotes’ diet."

#Underinsurance in America:
"We're seeing that high-deductible plans are really the epitome of the access-to-care problem. People don't have the liquid cash to meet their deductible, so you see delays in care or even avoiding treatment altogether."
npr.org/sections/health-shot…
The problem continues. Back in 2016 for @TheInlander I covered how #underinsurance creates huge financial burdens:

I just tried to read a story (about a really tragic accident) from a local TV news station so poorly written that I was completely distracted by the awful grammar/sentence structure. The bad writing on such a horrible tragedy was, frankly, offensive.
After much debate, I updated my Twitter handle, originally created when I signed up back in '09, when I was too naive to understand the importance of claiming my full name w/o middle initial, which instead some Justin Bieber fan has been sitting on and not using since 2011....
This week in @TheInlander I wrote about Dellie's @Basepaws DNA test results! My little cat is famous!!

I anxiously await the day people (mostly men) stop assuming, based on my name's spelling, etc., that I'm male.
Advice: Don't use "sir" or "ma'am" to address people in an email if you're not sure of their gender or #pronouns. Don't assume.
.@danielwinlander's "Best Marmot" piece inspired me to create a #MTG card fit for a Marmot King; Klo'stok the Marmot King, to be specific:
(Yes, I realize that tapping creatures is a blue ability but marmots don't follow color pie rules. Duh.)
OMG IT'S REALLY HAPPENING. I am finally going to see my faves @theblackkeys LIVE! 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸#letsrocktour
I am #soexcite about this! #Circe is a favorite recent read, and I highly recommend it to fellow lovers of fantasy, feminist fiction and epic pageturners!! #SpokaneisReading
