Moment an American pastor and prophetess, who are both married, introduce a new wife to their congregation and announce that they are now in a polygynous marriage with a female church member, claiming it is the “will of God.” 😭🤦🏾‍♂️🙆🏾‍♂️

At some point we need to have an uncomfortable conversation as a bi community about how some bisexual people chose the closet because we can be uniquely safe there. Also queer is a choice. Queer is an active verb as it operates in the community. You cannot be queer and hide.
Harvey Milk said that ‘if a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door.’ The eradication of the closet has been an ambition of queer liberation movements since forever. I’m saddened that there are people framing its endurance as a happy ending.

Hard to overstate how much the Amy Acton Mom ad is what the modern GOP is about. All these anxieties about how people (especially women and children) might use their agency to break bonds of filial duty and free themselves, rather than be subject to control and abuse. We sort of satirize them as the “you can’t groom my kids, that’s MY job!” Party, but this ad is very nearly that explicit argument. They don’t want schools to empower young people to find the autonomy to come out as gay or trans, they don’t want colleges to teach young adults about the breadth of the world and the human dignity of people from diverse backgrounds, they don’t want women to have financial independence and jobs and no-fault divorce. At the heart of the GOP is this very straightforward premise: “there are some people whom it is my right to abuse. They are my property, and they owe me total obedience; freeing themselves from my abuse is a betrayal of natural hierarchy and divine law. You are trying to take my victims away from me, and I’ll do anything to stop you.”
Surprised that folks think the Amy Acton mother ad will work. My immediate reaction (which i suspect will be other's) was: wait, is that her mother? Then I searched for the backstory on Acton's family. And then, well...

What is it like to have no knowledge of media except the very most popular like this? Because genuinely how can you be this disconnected.
It’s bizarre that the original Harry Potter movies created absolutely massive profiles for a bunch of child stars, they were household names, especially the main trio… and I very almost cannot think of a single one I’ve seen be in any other movie since.

re: this credit card convo: We can't act like they're not predatory, because they absolutely are. They're a nightmare if you're bad with money. But if you're good with money or just have enough funds to pay off your card in full every month, the perks are nice. It is what it is.

I hold my nose and vote for Dems I’m not crazy about pretty regularly bc they’re still better than the alternative. Now all of a sudden a bunch of ostensibly vote blue no matter who Dems can’t bother doing it during a crucial midterm? Weak.

This isn't woke it's stupid. Birth control is the second most important revelation in feminist history after the vote. You could make a perfectly reasonable argument that it's even more important than suffrage.

What Tommy says at the end, when he refuses to disavow adding any religious doctrine to U.S. law, is the scary part. The next generation of conservatives has a desire for a Christian theocracy, and that threat needs to be taken seriously.
This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

This is the best town hall response I have ever seen from a political candidate in my life. Yes, in my entire life. Watch it until the end.

Yeah this one is definitely fake but the assumption before they check the map app happens often enough to shock me. Along with zero experience driving through mountains and canyons but fully confident that won't be a problem somehow.
I am always confused by anecdotes like this. Are there substantial sums of people who don't look up how long a journey will be before they start driving? No directions, just "i want to go south, i reckon it'll take 6 hours or so?"

Yes but I'm somehow more shocked she didn't know Tokyo was a global urban center??? Nothing I've ever seen or heard about the city would give me an impression otherwise
Going to Japan and being surprised there's a language barrier and many ppl don't speak english is...i don't even know the appropriate insult here lmfao

The more I read this the more I realize that he's not hiding how he treated clarkson he's probably hiding that he's screwing over the artist and violating their gallery agreement. He doesn't own the piece but it's needed for the show, yet he can't actually say it's not for sale
It takes THREE TRIES for the owner to answer the question "was there a price tag on it?" and he doesn't even fully answer. #teamkelly

Even if she was trans how the fuck was it ever an appropriate response to do that to a dead woman? You were fine dehumanizing a trans woman in death? You were fine with your followers calling Haley, a murder victim, "it" because you thought she was trans? Fuck off.
Earlier this week, we shared a post about the killing of a woman. We later deleted it after being incorrectly told that she was male. We have since established that she was female, and we apologise for our error.

This account has lost all credibility and shown they do not care about femicide. And instead they determine who is woman enough solely using misogynistic stereotype around appearance. Do not support this misogynist and do not accept this apology.

I think the woman shot in the head by the Taliban as a teen fighting for her right for an education can have a f-king pot of Earl Grey and promote a charitable initiative with the Duchess of Sussex
