Last year, when I was using @ChainArgos tools to analyze CEL movements, it was exceptionally easy to identify the absurd levels of wash trading and manipulative transactions being done. Markets are full of these frauds pretending they have real volume/transactions.
@Visa was quick to point out how as much as 90% of #stablecoin transactions are fake, ever wondered how you can detect fake transactions not just for #stablecoins but for any token you can think of?

I'm not (yet) worried that TornadoCash makes DeFi web app operators etc into money transmitters
In TC it's going to come down to the relayers and TORN. Relayers did Ethereum txs for users (including paying gas). TORN provided an economic interest in the relaying enterprise.
On most DeFi web apps, it's still the user ultimately directly transacting on Ethereum (paying their own gas etc.). Or if indirect, the RPC node is owned by wallet operator, not the DeFi web app operator.
