NEW: The House passed the Ensuring a Fair and Accurate Census Act – an important step toward necessary Census Bureau reforms to help eliminate the possibility of inappropriate political interference in the census.

NEW: @theNASEM Committee on Nat'l Statistics' panel evaluating the 2020 census says it can't evaluate count's quality unless the Census Bureau releases data quality metrics that are below the state level & "unperturbed" by differential privacy protections

ALT It will not be possible for this panel (or any other evaluator) to understand and characterize the quality of the 2020 census unless the Census Bureau is forthcoming with informative data quality metrics, including new measures based on operational/process paradata, at substate levels and small-domain spatiotemporal resolution, unperturbed by noise infusion.

Some context for today's @uscensusbureau news re #2020Census undercounts. In Oct. 2020 we noted that self-response rates in communities of color tended to be much lower in 2020 than 2010. See gc.cuny.edu/sites/default/fi… & slides below. Self-response is key indicator of data quality.
