Before and after this election, I have watched people express fear and anger about abortion, encouraged by anti-abortion organizations, activists, and political and religious influencers. But abortions have continued through administrations of both political parties. This is not a problem that suddenly appeared because one party won an election.
I am pro-life. I believe that human life has dignity from conception to natural death. But those of us in the pro-life community need to be honest: we have failed to convince many people who disagree with us. Too often, we have responded with anger instead of doing the difficult work of changing hearts and minds.
If you are a woman who believes abortion is wrong, do not have one. If you are a man who believes abortion is wrong, do not encourage your daughter, girlfriend, or wife to have one. And when someone you love faces a difficult pregnancy, stand beside her and help her.
All of us should be working to create a true culture of life. That means caring for the mother and child, supporting families in hardship, and defending the dignity of the poor, the sick, and the vulnerable.
The anti-abortion movement has failed miserably at this. I would go further: I believe much of the wealthy anti-abortion establishment, with its political campaigns, fundraising, and constant outrage, has become part of the culture of death.
Being pro-life has to mean something more than being angry about an election. It has to be reflected in the way we live, the way we treat others, and the help we offer when someone needs us.

When being just and honest comes at a price, pay it. When forgiving seems like a defeat, forgive. When everyone tells you to think of yourselves first, do not be afraid to put yourselves in the last place. Be willing to give up time, money, comfort and plans to serve others. May those who see you find themselves asking: “Why do they live in this way? Where do they get this freedom? Why do they love one another so much?” #ApostolicJourney #Uruguay

We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that there are children who do not go to school. We cannot silence our conscience when we see a mother lacking the means to feed her children. We cannot ignore the many people around us who are suffering, alone and vulnerable. We need to commit ourselves to the charity and closeness of the Good Samaritan who did not remain indifferent upon seeing misfortune, but took responsibility for his brother’s life. The Catholic Church has been here long before the United States and will still be here long after it has fallen
Pope Leo XIV drew on his own recent experience of illness and hospitalization after surgery for lung cancer on Friday to make an impassioned appeal for universal access to healthcare, greater social equality and a society that does not measure people's worth by their productivity or wealth. cbsn.ws/4AiB37l

I encourage you to carry forward the mission of evangelization with enthusiasm. Be bridges, so that many may encounter Jesus. Be a fraternal community that comes together and shares life, projects, dreams and hopes, especially with those most in need. Be a community of prayer that maintains an ongoing dialogue with the Lord as a friend speaks to a friend (Jn 15:15). Christ is counting on all of you! Christ is counting on you! #ApostolicJourney #Uruguay

🚀🇺🇸Elon: “Happy to cancel any that the government doesn’t want. Just say the word!”
SpaceX delivers the best product at the lowest price and government revenue is already a tiny (and shrinking) part of the business.
“Government revenue will be less than 10% of SpaceX revenue this quarter and less then 5% a year from now.”
Democrats threatening him is just pathetic and pointless.
America needs more of this energy, not less 🔥

There is a well-funded campaign to make Pope Leo XIV seem like an American leftist.
Conservative Catholic media outlets (and conservative outlets in general) do basically nothing to combat this.
It doesn't work on people who have critical thinking skills but as we all know, the frontal lobe is not something people are in the habit of engaging when scrolling on The Apps.
This has a clear political consequence for the conservative movement. You can't just cede the Pope to the left and expect Catholics to get on board with you. It should also be the easiest thing in the world. Catholicism is the only surviving institution from antiquity, it is the most "conservative" thing on earth. For some reason, they can't manage proper counter-messaging.
But more importantly, it is an evangelization crisis.
Whether you agree with leftist politics or not, making the Pope no different than the spokesperson for an NGO erodes the Church's credibility.
Even well-intentioned Catholics who constantly interpret him through a leftist lens weaken his prophetic voice and harden the hearts of people who may otherwise listen to him and hear the Gospel.

Too many Christians have made politics their god.
Their party tells them whom to hate, which sins to excuse, and who is beyond mercy. Then they invoke Christ to justify it all.
If your faith never challenges your political loyalties but always gives you another reason to despise your opponents, ask yourself which one is actually shaping you.
Stop using Christ to justify your hatred. Submit your politics to Him.

Is the Catholic Church just another denomination? A woman once asked me what denomination I was. I told her I'm not any denomination, I'm Catholic. Trace Luther's church, Joseph Smith's, L. Ron Hubbard's, and you reach a human founder.
Then go to Matthew 16:18, where Jesus says he will build his church.
We're not a denomination. We're the common denominator.

Not true: The Catholic Church has never officially stated that “one cannot be a Democrat and a Catholic."
👉 What the Church actually teaches:
Official guidance comes primarily from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ document *Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship*. It repeatedly stresses that:
- The Church does not endorse or oppose political parties or candidates.
- Catholics must form their consciences according to Catholic moral teaching and exercise prudential judgment.
- “Our participation in political parties or other groups to which we may belong should be influenced by our faith, not the other way around.”
On abortion (the usual flashpoint in these debates), the document and related Vatican statements (including a 2004 letter from then-Cardinal Ratzinger) are clear:
- Abortion is an intrinsic evil and a preeminent priority.
- A Catholic may **not** vote for a candidate *precisely because* of that candidate’s support for abortion (or other intrinsic evils). That would be formal cooperation in evil.
- Voting for such a candidate *despite* their position on abortion, for other serious (“proportionate”) reasons, is remote material cooperation and can be permissible.
This standard applies to candidates of any party. The Church has never banned membership in the Democratic Party (or the Republican Party). Canon law does not prohibit lay Catholics from belonging to political parties; it mainly restricts active partisan involvement by clergy.
Pope Francis has also said there is not only one form of political commitment for Catholics: “the same Christian faith can lead to different commitments,” and Catholics may join different parties while seeking the common good.
The view that a Catholic can never vote for or belong to the Democratic Party was once a fringe position. It gained wider traction in the 2000s, largely through the efforts of certain groups (mostly of converts from Evangelical Christianity) and with the support of a small number of conservative priests and bishops. However, neither the Vatican nor the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has ever endorsed or agreed with this assessment, and Catholics remain free to vote for Democrats.
