Steve Kerr says that America is going backwards π
βWhen I finished college almost forty years ago, if you went to school and got a degree, you could get a job and you could buy a house. Now that's out of reach for most people between student debt and home prices and the economy slanted toward the very, very top one per cent. We don't really have a middle class, and we don't have what used to represent the American Dream, which was: you can do better than your parents. We're going backward on all that. Our family is lucky. I'm in a position where my family can live well. But there are millions of people out there, young people who are looking at the horizon and saying, "I did everything I was told I needed to do, and I can't buy a house, and I can't chase my dream." Think about what that means for the stability of communities and cities and a whole country.β

Way to go @Hickman_Rangers . An 88 with 5 out 6 distinctions is amazing. Despite being a bastion for new and non-certified staff, we more than crushed our goals. You all are set up to hit an A this year and for many years to come with Rachel running the show. #RangersLeadTheWay

To every principal out thereβthank you for carrying the weight no one sees, making decisions no one understands, and showing up even when you're exhausted. Your leadership holds schools together. You matter more than you know.

π‘ My 20-year-old son (who turns 21 next month) was driving home to Indiana from Florida todayβa grueling 19-hour trip. But guess what? Not a single @Marriott or @HiltonHotels in northern Florida or Georgia along I-75 would let him check in to sleep for the night. Even though I offered to prepay with my credit card, they all refused, citing βcompany policyβ that prohibits anyone under 21 from checking in without an "adult."
I have some serious questions:
1. How is it that you can pay taxes and even go to war at 18, yet Marriott and Hilton donβt consider you old enough to check into a hotel room with a guaranteed credit card?
2. Isnβt this age discrimination? What if they told a 90-year-old they were too old to check into a hotel alone?
3. Is it really reasonable to force a 20-year-old to sleep in his car on the side of the road or drive all night? Am I supposed to fly to Florida and drive home with my sonβwho is old enough to fight for his countryβjust to keep him - and others on the road- safe?
What am I missing here? π€
