for the @guardian, charles burnett & i spoke about “my brother’s wedding” and our years of creative partnership. the story is anchored by my discovery of never before seen images. to be @1CharlesBurnett’s archivist & film distributor is a great honor. theguardian.com/culture/ng-i…

"Watching this revitalization of the director’s picture is like spending your entire life seeing the world in black and white and being introduced to color." This restoration of Charles Burnett's MY BROTHER'S WEDDING is stunning. My @ebertvoices review. rogerebert.com/reviews/my-br…

One of my favorite Annie Dillard quotes, from a marvelous bit of advice she gave the creative writing students at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), titled “Notes for Young Writers.” Thanks to @Image_Journal, we have a written record of it. imagejournal.org/article/not…

I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. He also did courtroom sketches in court cases. In the comments I’ll share some pics from his sketchbook. He was excited when I said I was going to share his sketches with the world.

Building something new. Need an experienced comrade (or two) ASAP. (Paid)   Maybe you’re a showrunner. Maybe you run political campaigns. Maybe you saved Tech Week once, while your actor friends were freaking out. I don’t care what you’ve been, just what you’re feeling called to now.   If you’re like - omg yes - email me: [email protected]. Tell me something you had to do but had no idea how to do — but did anyway, and very well. Talk to you soon okok. 🫶🏾💫

Write down every fear that keeps you from being the leader your community needs right now. Write down every habit that distracts you from your own power. Write down every mistake you still hold against yourself. Then, under tonight’s Aries Full Moon, burn what you’ve written. Watch the smoke rise as your doubt dissolves into light. Thank the Moon for helping you release what no longer serves. Thank her for reminding you that you are a warrior, and you’ve already survived too much to ever doubt your power. Àṣẹ
