Next year's Marvel: Darkhold Destiny brings the return of basics with flavor text, an excellent upgrade to the standard basic frame in an era of full-art lands.

Unironically, I agree with this post. Psychologically, seeing the "hard" version can help color what is actually going on, really helping illustrate how solid this is.
For Cube curators glossing over cards with the "empower Jace" ability, does the version on the left, which is ever so slightly worse, change your tune about this great uncommon? Excited to play this in both retail draft and Cube!

I have no issue with Secret Lair, but personally, I'd rather not open a booster pack and see a cop, a salaryman, and a dude wearing a mtg t-shirt

Very happy to see Basic Lands with flavor text return in The Hobbit. These are also some of the best art on basics this year!

I'm often the first to say people over-react to the price of things, but Prof is absolutely right here Commander decks started at $30 MSRP in 2011 and were still under $40 until quite recently. Even if they passed on the *entire* licensing cost for UB at 20%, that'd only be $60
I'm sorry, but non-premium Standard Commander deck MSRP being $74.99 is outrageous. #MagicTheGathering

I think silently we are watching a large revolution of limited set design. Here are some of my thought on it linked to some linked data insights looking at the play - draw advantage and power creep at lower rarities and their impact on draft. 1/21

It's with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of iconic artist, Ron Spears. With an evocative flair for the fantastic, Spears's illustrative works have transported players to planes across the Multiverse for over twenty years 🌻 magic.wizards.com/en/news/fe…

reminds me when folks complained about core sets not having enough flavor and then all three times they were cancelled, an even larger group of people would say "I wish we could get meat and potatoes Magic flavor from time to time, like we had in core sets"
I think people very stubbornly say things like this when in reality we all cared for Magic art, world, bits of lore and the method of storytelling. To think of the world and story as simply the written narrative and nothing more is purposefully obtuse. There’s details in between.

I’m a basic land collector. The first photo shows my complete lineup of Secret Lair basic lands, and the second features promos and various lands I’ve gathered from different sets. The diversity of artwork and the shifting worlds across Magic’s history keep me collecting.
