For those of you who are on the fence whether to follow me or not, here is a thread I'll pin, that will let you know who am I, what is my content like and introduce you to the last few years of my work, looking at what was there and what to expect in the future. 1/27

Arena has a ton of achievements for this set and I like my sidequests. Problem: loads of them are for cards I don't want to play in my draft decks. So thanks opponent for providing me with a board state that gave me the Arni power >10 achievement without having to play Arni.

We are going through every FRA card and try to catch the subtleties. Which cards are good in which color pair? And what does it tell us about this glorious format. Join me at ttv // Sierkovitz

Among many amazing features of the lands / mana resource system, its natural capacity for purging the game of people who shouldn't be playing it is probably the best.
For me it’s pretty simple. I quit mtg many times because i absolutely hated land non-games. Does that mean i wanted to play magic with different rules? No. I just wanted to play a different game than magic. Every game has their own flaw and lands for me are so archaic that i just can’t enjoy the game because of it. I also think commander is the most boring 4 player game known to man. But if you like lands - that’s great, i hope you will enjoy magic as long as you can. But many people are acting like lands are superior to any other resource system - and that’s just silly.

Reminder: win rates on 17Lands are averages. So if Azorius has highest win rate, it means average WU deck is better than average other. Shortcutting it to WU > rest is a dangerous trend. It's easy to do so, but it's also incorrect. You play a deck, not an average of decks. 1/8

But the individual variance between WU decks' win rate is larger than the variance between color pair win rates. If you remember that and navigate your draft looking for most power, you will start winning more. Range of what you draft is a sign of a better limited player. 7/

To get that range you need to experiment and not be afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone. And also notice when you are shoehorned into a weak version of a good color pair. This is what you should be using your data for, not just checking the rankings of color pairs. 8/8

Judge!!! Played a fun Boros aggro deck yesterday that left me with rules question. Why if I reanimate Yoshimaru with Generous Revival does he come as a 3/3 not as a 4/4? I trust there is a reason, cause Arena is always right. I just don't know what the reason is. 1/2

The deck: No trophy but was strong and fun to play. Bunch of targeting, counter and life gain synergies overlapping. Danitha was particularly great - I managed to outcard blue decks at times. 5-3 with losses to mulligan, bad removal management and R Ajani. 2/2

Finally had some time to draft. What a treat. Got a trophy with this unassuming deck. Just solid cards and card draw. Phoenix was just to be a 3/2 haster. A lot of card draw which is my strategy for the format and got to 7-1. 1/2

I also drafted this irresponsible monstrosity - unholy hybrid of UB and GR. 6-3 - so close to a trophy, but the sins of my mana base got me in the end. It was all about prioritising power over consistency betting that this format will let me do it, and was partially right. 2/2
