A video & data-driven analysis of Bernal's Profile & Role.
- Explain the value he currently provides both in & out of possession.
- Highlight clear margins where he can progress.
- Identify anomalies that merit further analysis in the future.

I believe there is a lot of confusion around the right back role under Flick. Many want to see constant aggressive runs around Yamal, but a situational RB who chooses & times his runs depending on each sequence is ideal. Sometimes, less traffic around Yamal is better.
PSG doesn't panic, they adapt to any context: You press high? They create space w/ rotations. You pin them back? They counter efficiently. No box penetration? Got great shooters from range. You play direct? They're aggressive sweeping 2nd balls. Nothing works? Set piece routines.

It's crazy how watching Flick's Barça trained our eyes & brains to expect certain behaviors & moves and it feels odd when something different happens
Question: We all know that PSG rotates constantly in the central channels, but is it purely principle-based (fluid movement, dragging markers, filling open space as it appears) or based on preset, repetitive patterns ("if Player A moves to Zone B, Player C moves to Zone A") ?
How can such an important laliga game be played on such an awful pitch... It doesn't help the teams' technical players or to showcase the quality of Spanish football internationally. #BetisBarça

Incroyable travail!
A very good article on Marc Bernal that goes beyond the usual takes. I think this is well worth anyone's time even if you're not a Barca fan. A lot to learn while reading the article.

This is so good, and not only because the Captain sees everything I see -- he breaks it down, particularly his "heavy feet" and getting gassed after repeated sprint efforts, which I suspect is due much to having a lotta Bernal to haul around. Be sure to make time for this one.

Really interesting piece on Marc Bernal, particularly his off ball movement and one touch combos.
There's more to midfield progression than the player making the final line breaking pass. How a midfielder manipulates space and facilitates the next action deserves attention too.

6 shots on target vs 2 for Galatasaray (the goal & the disallowed goal). We finished our chances. Sadly the 1 time they managed to counter, they scored. I felt our rest defense could have been better at times. Also the CBs handled the aerial threat of Osimhen quite well so far.
How difficult it is to defend Leão in transitions. If you get tight, he can sprint and asks for the ball into space. If you keep a safety distance, he can receive ball to feet and kill you in 1v1. There's no correct approach with these unicorns. #GalatasarayBarça
I do feel that Lamine Yamal is leaving his wide position and roaming centrally slightly more often this season.
Gérard Martín is underrated. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. #Senesi
