For the first time in two decades, Canada’s First Ministers and First Nations leadership are meeting. Our focus is clear: what we can build and deliver together.
Major infrastructure. More homes. Better health care. Safer communities. Better preparation for emergencies.
Building a stronger, fairer, and more inclusive Canada for all.

Congratulations premier-elect @LDoerkson and the @Conservative_BC party on forming a majority government.
As the premier-elect referenced election night, mining is part of the trailblazing spirit of British Columbia. Mining helped build our province and has been a cornerstone of our economy for over 150 years. Today, with the critical minerals, precious metals and steelmaking coal our allies need, we can lead again, ready to drive a new wave of economic growth and prosperity in British Columbia through responsible resource development. #bcpoli #cdnpoli
The Mining Association of BC congratulates premier-elect @LDoerkson and @Conservative_BC on forming a majority government.
We extend our thanks to every candidate who ran and to those departing the BC Legislature for their service to our province.
BC’s incoming provincial government has the opportunity to unlock the full potential of British Columbia's mineral resources and create more economic activity, investment, government revenue, and family-supporting jobs and paycheques in communities across the province.
We look forward to working with the new BC Conservative government to make mining the growth engine it can be, advance responsible resource development, and deliver the critical minerals, precious metals and steelmaking coal the world needs while securing BC’s economic future and long-term prosperity.
With the right policies, mining can help build a stronger BC within a stronger Canada.

Running a winning campaign is hard enough. @katy_merrifield was named BC Conservative campaign manager the day the writ dropped, with a new leader and a party still finding its footing.
Most campaign managers have to fly the plane. Katy had to build it while flying it.
And still won.
An extraordinary achievement.

Obama: "Canada, that historical adversary of ours. It's your neighbour. It's a few minutes drive over the bridge. They are the nicest people. And somehow we've gotten them so mad because they're just constantly being abused and talked about. Talking about annexing their country, making it a 51st state."

Politics is a brutal sport.
Good people lose, we saw that last weekend in municipal elections.
Good, well-intentioned ppl will lose on saturday. Staff will lose jobs, it’s a high risk game.
On the flip side, some great people will win.
Win, lose or draw. Be nice #bcpoli

Damn, Carney is a generational PM. Can't execute better with the cards he was dealt than this.
We're very lucky to have him right now.

A blockbuster merger in Canadian energy
This morning, we announced, alongside @ATCO and Canadian Utilities, a transformational agreement to create a $72B utility and energy infrastructure powerhouse.
Through a merger with Canadian Utilities, we’re building a larger, more diversified Canadian-headquartered utility and energy infrastructure company. With greater scale, financial strength and investment capacity, the company will be positioned to support growing energy and infrastructure needs and pursue opportunities across North America.
The company will operate as Emera and maintain its public company headquarters in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with Canadian Utilities’ corporate and operational headquarters in Calgary, Edmonton, and Perth. Emera's U.S. operations will continue to be headquartered in Tampa, FL.

The scale of what Canada is building is hard to overstate:
--Churchill Falls = roughly 9 nuclear reactors worth of clean power.
--Pacific Link = an oil export route approaching the consumption of the entire UK.
--LNG Canada Phase 2 = enough gas to equal roughly half of Canada’s domestic consumption.
Churchill Falls: The largest clean energy investment in North American history. Pacific Link: A pipeline to the West Coast that will unlock new markets. LNG Canada Phase 2: The second-largest LNG facility of its kind in the world.
Canada is working. We’re unleashing our full potential as a global energy superpower — and we’re just getting started.
