Can’t wait to be back @RoyalAlbertHall tonight for Delius Mass of Life @bbcproms. Greatly enjoyed the @BBCRadio3 programme yesterday on whether he was a true Yorkshireman!

We're delighted to share that BBC Radio 3 won UK Radio Station of the Year at the Radio Academy's ARIAS award ceremony last night.
It's also a day when we're welcoming over 150,000 new listeners to Radio 3, with Essential Classics now reaching over a million listeners every week! Whether you’ve been with us for years or we're a new addition to your day, thank you for joining us on BBC Radio 3.

Our Playlister @BBCRadio3 this morning is by Gottschalk, his 'romance poetique' for piano The Dying Swan. Where could we glide off to next? Another swan? Another elegant departure? More waterfowl?! Something to reference Gottschalk's New Orleans roots?

As usual the #RAJAR news reporting tends to overlook the impressive performance by @BBCRadio3 in Q3 2021. Yes it’s a new methodology but 2.17m reach is the highest since at least 2014, demonstrating the power of #classicalmusic and culture to get us all through tough times 🎧

Loving current @BBCRadio3 playlist. Seal's sublime Kiss from a Rose earlier, now Fleet Foxes! Need this as #Covid19 Indian variant making me rethink trip to the Shire (so keen to go, hug the gangs, but may have to be solo as other half has been in wars & safety proofed somehow).

From operatic super ⭐️ Leontyne Price & contralto extraordinaire Marian Anderson to little-known (and yet very familiar) folk singer Vera Hall, via the other Robert McFerrin (Bobby’s dad) and Lancastrian writer and sometime cabaret singer Eric Bentley.

A fascinating and heart breaking piece by @julianborger for @guardian today.
It tells the stories of Jewish children whose parents placed ads in The Guardian for UK families to take them in to escape Nazi-run Vienna.
