Had a great meeting this week with the @CalEndow team on the work they are doing to uplift communities throughout our state.

Thanks to the work of our organization, and in partnership with powerful and brave community members that are often overlooked—California became the first state to expand Medi-Cal to ALL undocumented adults regardless of immigration status.
We have the privilege of amplifying the voices of our communities, and it doesn’t stop here. La lucha sigue.

As a foundation that prides itself on creating a California for all, we knew that these values would help lead us in the fight for expanded healthcare.

In order to communicate with people from all walks of life, we came up with a multi-pronged approach led by powerful, young, undocumented leaders.
This meant creating content with young leaders; buying bus, TV, and radio ads; influencer and celebrity partnerships; and so much more.

This campaign was led by the communities who were most impacted by the lack of healthcare in California. What did “for all” mean?
This meant letting community leaders, young people, and undocumented folks lead us in our fight for #Health4All.

A strength of #OurQueerestCentury is the national poll on LGBTQ+ issues @NORCNews conducted for us w/ support from @CalEndow!
We asked questions @latimes last asked in 1985 to gauge change over time, and new questions that speak to this moment.

Thank you for tuning in! To close, here's a powerful clip from actor and advocate @danieldaekim on the importance of taking a stand.
"I want to be a part of that positive change. And that's what I encourage everyone else to do in their own small ways"

A new CDC report that shows while the U.S. life expectancy increased for the first time in two years, the overall infant mortality rate increased by 3.1% in 2022. #Education and #healthequity are key to assuring a good life in a #CaliforniaForAll.

We applaud our resident leaders Andrea Noble and Ruby Marbury for lending their voices to
@CalEndow efforts to promote housing opportunities and belonging for all Californians. Sustained investment in #affordablehousing is vital for everyone to have a place to call home.
Our communities are in desperate need of housing—and our unhoused neighbors are in need of support.

I had the opportunity to attend a retirement sendoff at the Chaffee Zoo for Dr. Robert Ross, the longtime leader of The California Endowment. Dr. Ross is retiring after leading the Endowment for 24 years. It was a great event attended by community leaders. @CalEndow

I am honored to have been given the privilege to have worked with the communities in Fresno. I am humbled and have learned so much from listening to others. If we all spoke less, and listened more with an open heart to each other, we will be a step closer to a #CaliforniaForAll.

Each grant we make has a spiritual component that says “We see you. We see your face, we see your story, we hear your dreams, and we see your hope FOR ALL. “

Aquí is thrilled with the news of Brenda Solórzano as the new leader of the @CalEndow.
A champion of 'trust-based philanthropy,' Brenda’s career has proven that philanthropy is, first and foremost, accountable to the organizations they fund and the communities they serve.
