Not just a journal editor but a magazine writer too! Nice story by @RobertGaristo
Observations of the cosmic microwave background favor just one quantum field driving cosmic inflation but more fields are possible and even likely. Now Koki Tokeshi and Vincent Vennin have devised an explanation for how a single field came to predominate. go.aps.org/4cAdLyh

Earlier today I tapped my phone to check the time. It said 17:28, which instantly brought back to my mind a paper I'd written in 1990 about the x-ray binary star system MXB 1728-34. adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1990…

It was a delight to work with Ivan on this fascinating article.
Hidden kinetics of network growth. 1/2 Excited to share this viewpoint on a recent PRL, where Fragkiskos Papadopoulos and his team show how strange, sub-diffusive kinetics shape the growth of networks endowed with a latent geometry! physics.aps.org/articles/v17…

Anyone out there with a Quantum Design OptiCool: Do you have a sample mounting / chip carrier scheme for simultaneous optical interrogation and electronic measurements with which you are happy?

10 years ago today I was elected as parent governor of @HighdownSchool and 4 years ago I became Chair of Governors of that fantastic school. It has not always been easy, but it has always been rewarding. Many schools struggle to recruit governors, so please consider volunteering.
