My Address at the 85th Foundation Day celebrations of the "Council of Scientific and Industrial Research" #CSIR at C. R. Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi. Key Takeaways: "CSIR is among the few institutions that have led India’s post-independence journey, having come into existence in 1942, before the country became independent. The organisation represents a rich scientific legacy built over more than eight decades and has developed capabilities across a wide range of domains. And therefore, the challenge before CSIR is to live up to this legacy by continuously renewing its scientific and technological work according to the current and futuristic requirements of the country. The success stories emanating from different CSIR institutes have increasingly become associated with the identity of the State or UT where they exist. CSIR’s contributions range from leather technologies and jewellery to healthcare, agriculture, road technologies, Aroma Mission, food technology and aerospace. Last one decade, led by CSIR President Sh @narendramodi , witnessed increased visibility of scientific achievements and their connect with citizens. The work in the CSIR labs was happening earlier also, but its success stories are now reaching the people for whom they are meant. For 2047, we aim at technological sovereignty, which is crucial to national sovereignty".

My Address at the “Health & Wellness Summit 2026” organised by The Open Magazine. Takeaways: "Health is no longer limited to being free from disease or receiving treatment for a particular ailment. It encompasses physical and mental well-being, the environment in which people live and work, work-life balance and overall ease of living. In other words, wellness is not mere absence of disease. India’s substantial rise in life expectancy has also brought a change in disease profile. At the same time, we are faced with a wide disease spectrum, with non-communicable diseases co-existing along with communicable diseases. The @narendramodi government has adopted a broader approach to healthcare, combining easier, affordable access to treatment and preventive and interventions, and at the same time integrating western systems of medicine with AYUSH systems and policy reforms like AYUSHMAN, etc".

85th Foundation Day Celebrations of #CSIR: Inaugurated and did a walkaround of the Exhibition showcasing wide range of technologies developed by #CSIR institutes/labs across the country and the technology support provided to StartUps. Another important highlight of the Foundation Day celebrations was a special “SciArt” exhibition, whose unique feature was paintings by eminent scientists themselves, depicting various science related phenomena through creative illustrations.

85th Foundation Day Celebrations of #CSIR: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is celebrating over eight decades of scientific excellence and innovation. Established in 1942, CSIR today operates through a network of 37 national laboratories and has contributed significantly to the growth of various industrial sectors. The notable innovations include the National Aroma Mission, Swaraj Tractor, indelible election ink, Saheli contraceptive pill, and indigenous Paracetamol technology, among others. It has also pioneered sustainable solutions such as bio-jet fuel and steel slag roads. In recent times, some of the notable achievements include the HANSA-NG aircraft, sickle cell anaemia test kit, hydrogen fuel-cell catamaran, and RO Bus. To mark its remarkable journey and this special milestone, launched the Special CSIR@85 Postal Stamp, the Tech Connect Special Issue, CSIR Technology Compendium, Industry Connect Special Short Film, and the special mascot named CIRA.
