Children Not Numbers’ #maternal health programme is a vital lifeline for #postpartum women in Gaza, offering critical care for both mothers and #newborns under the most challenging conditions. Today, our Gazan programme lead, Dr. Altalla, conducted home visits to several of our clinic patients, delivering essential supplies and performing crucial health checks.
Postnatal needs for both mothers and babies are exacerbated by the scarcity of essential medical supplies, the high cost of basic goods like food and diapers, unsafe transportation, and the constant threat of shelling, all of which make recovery and care even more challenging.
Despite the overwhelming demand, the resources available to meet these needs remain limited.
With your support, we can continue to expand our services, ensuring that more mothers and babies receive the care they urgently need.

Through the tireless efforts of the Children Not Numbers team, these children received the critical medical treatments they needed, restoring their health and giving them the opportunity to thrive.
The transformations you see here are not just physical; they also represent renewed confidence, joy, and the promise of a brighter future.
Every child deserves this chance. With your continued support, we can bring hope and healing to countless other children in Gaza who desperately need our help.

Our community continues to show great concern for Maryam whose condition continues to deteriorate rapidly. Our team has worked tirelessly to secure her medical care within Gaza, while exploring treatment options abroad and we have successfully obtained security clearance from COGAT for Maryam.
However, recent policy changes within Gaza’s Ministry of Health meant that her condition did not initially qualify her for a referral report. Without this vital document, she was unable to leave Gaza for treatment.
Thanks to the efforts of our In-Country Clinical Lead, Consultant Pediatrician Dr. Sharif, Maryam finally received her referral report.
We are now working tirelessly to secure a place for Maryam on an upcoming mission in collaboration with international governing bodies and the World Health Organisation.
Over the past seven months, Children Not Numbers have not only facilitated her evacuation, but also provided her family with nutritional aid, shelter assistance, and access to critical and prohibitively expensive medications. Despite these efforts, the available resources have proven inadequate to meet her increasing needs.
Medical evacuations are a last resort. They are the result of all avenues for medical care in Gaza being exhausted, and signifies the complete breakdown of local healthcare options. Maryam should not need to leave her homeland for treatment, it should be readily available to her in Gaza.
The international community must act. We urgently call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, the lifting of the siege, and the restoration of a functioning healthcare system.
Thank you for sharing Maryam's story.
Our legal and multidisciplinary medical teams, both within and outside Gaza, have already secured approval for Maryam to evacuate and are now coordinating her exit.
We have been working tirelessly to get Maryam the critical medical treatment she urgently needs in Gaza since May 2024, but unfortunately this treatment remains unavailable despite our best efforts. Her condition has now deteriorated rapidly in the past week and our team continue to support Maryam and her family.
Thanks to a recent medical #evacuation, Lara is finally receiving the critical medical intervention she so desperately needs. These photos, shared by her mother from Belgium, highlight the life-saving importance of timely medical evacuations when all local treatment options have been exhausted.
The difference in her condition in just a few days is enormous. In #Gaza, children that should be admitted to high-dependency and critical care units are trapped in their homes or besieged in the enclave with little to no access to the most basic medical facilities. This is why #chronic conditions are now killing children at the same rate as bombs.
Medical #evacuations save lives. They can’t be facilitated without consistent and regular #humanitarian corridors and multi-governmental support across borders.
We must continue to call for an immediate and lasting #ceasefire and the safe delivery of at-scale humanitarian and medical #aid.

In September 2024, Children Not Numbers launched its Maternal Health Programme. In November, our team saw over 200 women, 75 of which were new referrals.
Dr. Nadia, a London-based #obstetrician and #gynaecologist who is the #obstetric lead for the programme, highlights the severe lack of antenatal care for pregnant women in #Gaza since late 2023. This urgent need led to the establishment of two dedicated clinics offering essential services such as #imaging, medications, nutritional support, medical referrals, and #postnatal aid.
Your donations make this work possible. With your continued support, we can help ensure #pregnant women in Gaza receive the care they desperately need.

Every day, children in Gaza are paying the highest price for a conflict they did not choose.
Many of these children have suffered burns, broken bones, #amputations, and other life-altering injuries. Some have been blinded, others maimed, while many have endured multiple surgeries just to survive.
Their innocence is lost, and their scars, both physical and emotional, will last a lifetime.
We urge the international community to take decisive action. Demand an end to the #siege and call for an immediate, lasting #ceasefire to protect the children of #Gaza.
Earlier this morning, Children Not Numbers successfully #evacuated three children from #Gaza in coordination with the @WHO ..
These children are now en route to Europe, where they will receive the #medical care unavailable to them in Gaza due to the Strip’s devastated #healthcare infrastructure.

While these families breath a sigh of relief that their children can now access the life-saving treatment they need, there are hundreds of others in a critical condition that urgently need access to the same care and treatment.
This Giving Tuesday, Children Not Numbers asks you to stand with us in our mission to bring hope and healing to Gaza’s children.
Each child we help is more than a number—they are sons, daughters, dreamers, and survivors. But our work is only possible because of your donations.
Please donate today and help us continue to give these children a chance to thrive, not just survive.

Our team is on the ground every day, providing vital care to injured and chronically ill children in Gaza. For those whose needs go beyond what the devastated health infrastructure can offer, we work tirelessly to evacuate them for life-saving treatment abroad.
Your generosity has the power to transform lives. Together, we can ensure that no child in Gaza is left behind due to a lack of care or opportunity.
