If you went to #bourbonandbeyond this weekend, and you’re now in bed fighting for your life, it’s influenza…

I made $12/hour as a medical scribe straight out of college with my biology degree. So will STEM degrees now be considered “worthless”?
This is bad….

Me wondering where the senior resident is, but I am in fact the senior resident in question.

Every ounce of my personality clashes with the culture of medicine and my evaluations reflect this unfortunately. I’m in my 30’s and my personality is here to stay 🤷🏾‍♀️

The ED is a whole different beast. Props to people who do this everyday. Couldn’t be me though lol

When I’m off work on random weekdays and running errands, I always feel like an undercover agent cause no one knows I’m secretly a doctor.

My favorite thing to do honestly.
Internal medicine is basically professional overthinking.

Doing my ICU rotation and realizing not many people were trained to intubate without a scope. Is this common training for osteopathic schools?

My partner and I have spent $400 on groceries in 2 weeks. How the heck are people with kids surviving??

Most inaccurate thing about #thepitt is the lack of medicine residents. Why hasn’t anyone been admitted to medicine?? I demand representation.

The Black tax is not exclusive to Black athletes and entertainers. Almost any Black person that has jumped higher in class relative to their parents, siblings, or additional immediate family, pays a Black tax. That includes, first gen college grads, doctors, lawyers, etc.
This entire conversation surrounding Glorilla & her family is exactly the “black tax” we be talking about when it comes to athletes & entertainers. If you have to rely on your kids’ money to sustain yourself, you have failed as a parent.

…I truly understand that many of you guys say this in good faith but this is historically inaccurate. Immigrants helped develop America but it was BUILT by African Americans and the genocide of Indigenous people.
“Immigrants built this country, literally. So this is for them, for all children of immigrants. This is also for those who to came to this country in search of better opportunity to be part of a nation that promised freedom for all and equal opportunity to everyone willing to work for it. Thank you for bringing your culture, your music, your stories and your traditions here. You give America color. I love y’all so much.” — Shaboozey accepting his first #GRAMMY

I feel like residency definitely sucks if you don’t have a very supportive, financially stable partner. Cause all I have to focus on is work and learning.

The risk of doing residency in the Midwest. Driving through a foot of snow to get to the hospital for work cause I’m now considered “essential”.
