Post #BattleFest croaky voice and a bit rambly, but I was keen to push the government to clarify how they will stop the new criminal offence of officials 'misleading the public' having a chilling impact on frank and open discussions in public bodies. Of course we don't want cover ups. But we also don't want to encourage a risk-adverse fear of speaking out in case of prosecution.

The BBC license fee is literally just a tax.
If you want to watch any TV show, you must pay for the BBC, or you could face jail time.
Now, the British Government wants to extend that to YouTube, Netflix, and Disney +, forcing practically everyone to pay.

The Online Safety Act has made hosting community forums so laborious that they're closing shop.
Hundreds of forums have shuttered due to piling paperwork and liability risks.
