Still got it, slow as hell and a senior citizen with bad eyes, hands and a body with more , titanium/metal that one should have in your body. I know the cuts aren't clean but on the first dry for a cutout like this not so bad.

Good explanation of a weird thing that's been happening on here lately. It feels very scammy - I'd be wary of this.
Numerous creators have received random X Money deposits of thousands of dollars. It’s actually quite interesting what’s going on, but it could also be very bad for you and your brand if you’re not careful. Let me explain. A lot of people just got unsolicited X Money deposits and some are calling it a “financial DDOS.” This is not random cash. A product called Paid / @UsePaid lets someone launching a pump(dot)fun token attached to an X handle. Token fees get converted to fiat and pushed to that person through X Money as a “creator fee.” The point of the payment is attention. They want you to notice the deposit, ask what it is, quote it, thank them, or talk about the coin in public. You can usually take the money and say nothing. Silence is the cleanest move. If you don’t engage, they often just move on to the next handle. Do not publicly discuss, thank, quote, or “just explain” the coin. We’ve already seen creators get sued or dragged into legal fights after they publicly touched coins they didn’t launch, didn’t control, and didn’t fully understand. A public reply can look like endorsement, promotion, or involvement even when you thought you were just being polite. Be careful, my friends. And to those receiving free money, congratulations!

The Kennedy Center was financially stable until Trump took over: "In the fiscal year ending in 2024, when the center was led by President Deborah Rutter and a bipartisan board of trustees, it brought in about $40 million more than it spent" theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

The Kennedy Memorial is made of irreplaceable marble that was gifted by Italy. Matisse tapestries found throughout were gifted from France. The massive starburst chandelier in the Opera Hall, and lights along walkways, were a gift from Sweden. The record-breaking stage curtains were a gift from Japan. They had to build special looms to weave them because of how big they are. The grounds are beautiful with displays of art. This is what Trump is destroying.

The Kennedy Center’s Grand Foyer is 630' long and 63' high. The crystal chandeliers were hand-blown by @orrefors and an official gift by the Kingdom of @Sweden in 1971. The huge mirrors at left were a gift the Kingdom of @Belgium on behalf of its people and nation.
A detail worth noting in the Kennedy Center madness is a magnificent 12,000 crystal lighting array at the Opera House created by J & L Lobmeyr, who also made chandeliers for the Vienna State Opera and Schönbrunn Palace. It's an official gift from the Republic of Austria, meant as a permanent memorial to President Kennedy.

For years, you've read me complaining about CA governance, so now read something positive: Buffy Wicks, who chairs the CA State Assembly Appropriations Committee and who has helped lead the drive to relax supply constraints across the state, has agreed to lead a Breakout at Reconvene in October. She is coming specifically because she wants to hear from people who build and operate housing in California about all the ways state government interferes with us doing so profitably. If you are on the front lines and want to share your experiences / frustrations with someone who a. cares and b. is in a position to do something to help, I strongly urge you to join us. For more information, visit reconvene.com

New exclusive: In his 25 years as an OBGYN, Sen. Roger Marshall of Kansas repeatedly sued patients for outstanding medical debt. At least 81 were arrested during their court proceedings. Some had debt from c-sections; others from miscarriages.

23 US states/territories have COVlD outbreaks. You can use this promo code to get 20% off FlowFlex rapid tests. That's the test my family uses and that I give to patients and staff because it has >98% sensitivity. (link in next Tweet)

🦔AI companies are bulk-buying rare books, scanning them through high-speed machines that cut the spines off, and shredding the originals. A service called ISBNdb facilitates orders of up to a million books and keeps buyers anonymous. Pre-2022 books are premium because they're free of AI-generated text. A federal judge ruled the practice is fair use because eliminating the original means only one copy exists at a time. Anthropic hired the former head of Google Books partnerships to obtain "all the books in the world." My Take This got to me. A bookseller told 404 Media that rare books with almost no surviving copies are being fed into this pipeline. Books that survived wars, fires, and centuries of handling are being shredded so an AI can learn to write a better marketing email. ISBNdb's website literally says "'AI company destroys two million books' is not a headline that generates sympathy," and they still built an entire business around making it happen quietly. They offer NDAs as a feature. They coach clients to call it "digital preservation." I've covered AI companies scraping the internet, torrenting libraries, and stealing music. This is worse because it's irreversible. You can re-upload a website. You can reprint a bestseller. You can't replace the last three copies of an 18th-century botanical text once someone shreds them for training data. And the judge said it's legal. So it's going to accelerate. "We shred rare books and offer NDAs so nobody finds out" is a legitimate business model in 2026. What a timeline. Hedgie🤗

The mint turquoise color is the original house color. Unfortunately the seams for the tongue and groove were caulked heavily. Post impure foundation loamy soil. The last layer of paint is incredibly thick with no stretch or breathability. This is the worst wall South facing.

New paper: every law in America is technically public. But not really, until now! With @DenisPeskoff at UC Berkeley, we built a corpus of ~every publicly accessibly city and county law, and released a huge chunk of it! 2.2 million laws, you're (probably) covered in it! 🧵

🦔Leonardo is a $17 billion defense contractor. It built a system called SignalTrace that clips sensors onto the license plate readers already mounted on street poles, overpasses, and police cars across the US. Every time you drive past one, the sensor grabs the Bluetooth and WiFi signals from every device in your car, ties them to your plate, and logs the time and location. Your phone, your AirPods, your kid's tablet. All of it goes into the same file. A friend rides with you once and their devices are linked to your plate. Leonardo has sold this to police departments since at least 2023. There is no federal law covering it, no opt-out, and no warrant requirement. My Take None of the pieces here are new. Your phone has always broadcast a signal. The license plate cameras were already there. Leonardo just connected them and found a buyer. Nobody had to break a law or build anything from scratch. They assembled a surveillance system from parts already in place and sold it before anyone noticed. Most people found out this week from a 404 Media investigation. Leonardo received the patent in 2024. By the time you hear about something like this, the deals are done and the sensors are on the poles. That's how it works now. I'm finally reading Dune. This quote, which is in the first few pages, hits hard: "Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."
