Weekly Tests of Everbridge Disaster Notification System in September for National Preparedness Month & Wildfire Season Preparedness - Thu, Sep. 17, 5:00 PM - MAL-C113: Western Malibu The City is working hard to prepare – and to help our residents and businesses be ready – for wildfires, earthquakes, and other disasters. The City will conduct Everbridge Disaster Notification System tests in September to a different Malibu Evacuation Zone each week. Thursday, Sept. 3, 5:00 PM - Zone MAL-C111: Eastern Malibu Thursday, Sept. 10, 5:00 PM – Zone MAL-C112: Central Malibu Thursday, Sept. 17, 5:00 PM – Zone MAL-C113: Western Malibu Thursday, Sept. 24, 5:00 PM – Zone MAL-C114: Far Western Malibu Everbridge: The City has been using Everbridge for several years to send urgent emergency alerts during the most serious incidents that threaten lives and property, including evacuation orders. No sign-up is required, most Malibu copper landlines and cell phones are automatically entered into the Everbridge system. However, residents and businesses can create a profile to add additional contact information, street addresses, or secondary phone numbers at: MalibuCity.org/DisasterNotif…. (The City uses website alerts for lower level emergency, traffic, utility and weather alerts: Sign up at MalibuCity.org/News) It’s your shared responsibility to be prepared for wildfires, and that means knowing your Evacuation Zone, signing up for alerts, and monitoring fire weather conditions. Look up your Evacuation Zone at MalibuCity.org/Evac, and monitor Genasys Protect, the emergency and evacuation information site used by LA County, at: Protect.Genasys.com/Search.
