Did you know that viral #hepatitis is a leading cause of #livercancer globally?🤔
New research by @CDAFound finds that #hepatitis B and C infected individuals “have a similar or significantly higher risk of developing cancer than someone who actively smokes one pack of cigarettes per day.”
Our recent survey also shows that nearly half (42%) of people globally are unaware that one of the leading causes of liver cancer is viral hepatitis.
This #WorldHepatitisDay, we must continue to raise awareness about the dangers of this silent killer, hepatitis, to save lives!

70,000 annually infected perinatally in Gavi countries will go on to die of liver complications. 62% of these could have been prevented had similar levels of BD in Gavi countries been supported and met.
