BREAKING: UN torture expert denounces colleagues Francesca Albanese and Reem Alsalem for denying October 7 atrocities and ignoring Hamas torture of Israeli hostages: “My colleagues said nothing. I felt ashamed. Their one-sided, vitriolic reports added to families’ anguish.”
Dr. Alice Jill Edwards: “The UN had done so little to help them... I felt ashamed. I am still outraged that UN special rapporteurs Francesca Albanese and Reem Alsalem never formally documented these horrors. Instead, both have continued to issue a stream of what I regard as one-sided and vitriolic reports, and hard-to-justify excuses for their lack of attention. That, families and returned hostages have told me, only added to their anguish.”

Sally Rooney hasn't been censored. She's been censured. A lot of people don't appear to know the difference. She can say whatever she likes, she just can't finance terrorism.

When Hamas proudly used child soldiers and UNRWA schools train middle schoolers with AK47s to target civilians…yea, it seems fair to blame those deaths on jihad, especially in the context of choosing genocidal jihad over peaceful statehood…

This is genuinely shocking and calls into question the fitness of Jonathan Powell to serve as National Security Adviser.
You probably haven’t heard of Sarah Helm. She is a journalist, author… and wife of Jonathan Powell, Britain's National Security Adviser, the man at the very centre of the state's fight against terrorism. Yesterday, responding to reports that Sally Rooney's books may no longer be sold in Britain over her alleged support for Palestine Action, she posted this on X: "God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action." Palestine Action is a proscribed terrorist organisation. Under the Terrorism Act, expressing support for a proscribed group is a criminal offence. Hundreds of people have been arrested for doing exactly that. Perhaps Ms Helm will say she was being loose with her words. But the household of the man responsible for Britain's national security is not where you'd expect to find what looks very much like a declaration of support for a banned terror group. Does Downing Street have anything to say? Does it hell.

Financing of terrorism is prohibited under Part III of the Terrorism Act 2000 (Sections 15 to 18). She stated the profits from UK sales of her books would fund a proscribed terrorist organisation. That’s why the publisher pulled them. They don’t want to go to prison.

It’s simple @OdohertyI64991, Palestine Action is currently a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK under the Terrorism Act 2000. It was added to the list of proscribed groups by order that took effect on 5 July 2025, alongside groups such as the Maniacs Murder Cult and Russian Imperial Movement. Sally Rooney is a supporter of that terrorist organisation. Her publisher determined that because of her support for Palestine Action, which has been classified as a terror group, they can't legally transfer her the proceeds of her UK sales. If Sally Rooney is unhappy about the fact that her books will no longer be published in the UK, then she should stop supporting a terrorist organisation.

Yes. UN whistleblower Emma Reilly, who worked under Pillay as High Commissioner (2008-2014), has publicly accused her of overseeing the OHCHR handing names of over 50 dissidents—including Uyghurs—to China, ignoring warnings. Reilly calls this complicity in the Uyghur genocide, citing court testimony from families about subsequent detention, torture and deaths.

Probably one of the most anti-Semitic posts I have seen on X. What a lazy trope .. here are the facts :- Ashkenazi Jews (AJ) form a genetically distinct population whose ancestry is a mixture of Levantine/Middle Eastern and European (predominantly Southern European/Mediterranean) components, shaped by ancient origins in the Near East, migration into Europe, admixture, a severe medieval founder event (bottleneck), and subsequent endogamy with very limited gene flow after the 14th century. Ashkenazi ancestry is 55%+ Levant

You expose your ignorance. Cohanim (Cohen) are the priesthood lineage of Jews going back 3000 years. Note: European Jews were forced to have surnames by the empires in the 18th & 19th centrury. Before that Jews did not have surnames. God, the Jew haters on here are ignorant fools.

Hamas very clearly committed genocide on Oct. 7 as per the UN definition. The 5 qualifying acts under the UN definition of genocide, which Israel has committed 4 of, can also happen during a war. Intent is less clear. Roof knocks, removing civilians from hostile areas, leaflet drops, cell phone notifications/calls all point towards genocide not being Israel's intent. The genocidal rhetoric of some Israeli's and a minority of Israeli politicians does bolster the case that it is genocide. ICC doesn't rule on whether something is genocide. ICJ has yet to release a decision in the case brought agains Israel by South Africa.

After the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" vote, the Leader of Haringey Council, which is controlled by the Greens, wrote to various Synagogues in the borough to "reassure" them. I want to show you Highgate Synagogue's reply. I believe it is worth reading in its entirety.

This is a brilliant thread by @OzKaterji.
I hope the images of Zohran Mamdani having people who claim to be pro-Palestine screaming at him in public and calling him a traitor for attending an October 7th vigil will finally wake people up to what I have been warning about for years.

Indeed, David Niven was in his life and work, emblematic of a particularly British decency and honour that latter-day gobbaloons like @colonel_c81247 almost always despise. I remember the universal sympathy towards him in the early 80s when news of his final, prolonged, illness was reported. That to me was as good a sign as any of his character.

There are Mass rocks in Irish fields that we still regard as holy. Under the Penal Laws of the 18th century, Catholics gathered at them in secret. Lookouts were posted on high ground, and the time and place were passed around quietly by word of mouth. Priests still say Mass at some of those rocks today, so we can remember the risks people once took just to gather together as a community of faith. Today, the Chief Rabbi of Ireland, Yoni Wieder, explained that Dublin's main synagogue held no public memorial on the third anniversary of October 7th because the risk was too high that someone might try to physically attack the participants. He points to recent fatal attacks on synagogues and other Jewish events in the UK, the US, and Australia. A commemoration will go ahead at an unspecified time and place, but those who register won't learn the details until 24 hours beforehand. The small Jewish community is also concerned that vigils and commemorations will attract pro-Palestinian protesters. "I don’t think that a grieving daughter who has come to mourn her father, who was murdered by terrorists, should have to walk past somebody shouting at her that she’s a ‘baby killer’," the Chief Rabbi said. What he asks for is modest and reasonable: "a basic human boundary around people who are simply coming to mourn their dead." No law forbids religious worship in Ireland anymore. There are no priest-hunters and no bounties. Article 44 of the Irish constitution states: "Freedom of conscience and the free profession and practice of religion are, subject to public order and morality, guaranteed to every citizen." And yet, in a country with fewer than 2,200 Jews, many now gather at undisclosed locations out of fear. That climate did not arise by itself. It has been fostered by the Irish state, whose leaders have made denouncing Israel a test of national virtue and have rarely taken responsibility for where that rhetoric leads. We built much of our national memory around people who were forced to gather in secret. We of all nations should recognise it when it happens again. irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/…

3 years ago my husband and I woke up to a nightmare in Tel Aviv. The videos coming through, the phone calls we received and the rockets starting from gaza and Lebanon. I'll never ever forget the darkness of that day and every day afterwards. I'm Irish, not Israeli, and I still felt the hurt that Israelis felt. I will never ever forget what they did to peaceful people and I will NEVER forgive them. Stay strong Israel 🇮🇪🇮🇱

Acton, half an hour ago. Popped into a cafe for some baklava with the kids and our Ukrainian friends. People have been brutally murdered, kidnapped and there are people in London dancing. Just had a reassuring call with the police, if anyone is scared, please call them.
