The Demon Ref - Glasgow, June 2025
Colin Campbell, aka The Demon Ref, on the pitch at Stepford in Glasgow.
Good to chat with Colin yesterday and it turns out he and I were both in the same job in a previous existence…

Thanks for that,I am absolutely dumbfounded, and how many games are you refereeing at the same time?
Colin Campbell Ref retweeted
Match was abandoned today due to our opposition’s keeper attacking the referee
We completely & utterly condemn what happened & gave our full support to the referee during & after the incident
Referees are vital for the game we love to play
More info to follow

Okay. Fair play to you. You got me. I should have read your other Tweets. Enjoy your next game which I presume will be Melchester Rovers vs Princes Park in the Anglo-Scottish Cup. Well done #DemonRef

I didn’t say it was ok and you can see that quite clearly from my responses. I have offered to assist you if you are a constituent and if you require it. It is your prerogative as to whether or not to contact me.
Colin Campbell Ref retweeted
I would imagine this is something that you would have to discuss with the SFA and determined by the grade to which you are qualified to referee, but don’t know for sure. If you’re a constituent and I can help you then email [email protected]

Colin.. while i appreciate that you are a decent ref, that is a silly decision to go ahead with this match. To say that you are loosing patience with players and staff is also out of order. Guys have work on a Monday. Looks like you have taken a fee and disregarded player safety

Hi @CCampbellREF I spoke to you a while back regarding officiating our 9-a-side games for CLYFA League. Any chance you can follow me so I can discuss further with new season approaching?
Colin Campbell Ref retweeted
Aye it’s a pain but to be fair the team does have a good reason that I won’t go into so no problems with them.

How about a RT for the Scottish Amateur Football @Scottish_AFF ?
Just an account spreading joy amongst us fitba maniacs. If this appears on your timeline, give us a RT and hopefully some new teams, players, supporters or even sponsors can get in on the fun for next season, ⚽️
