The Demon Ref - Glasgow, June 2025 Colin Campbell, aka The Demon Ref, on the pitch at Stepford in Glasgow. Good to chat with Colin yesterday and it turns out he and I were both in the same job in a previous existence…

Even by my own standards this weekend is looking like a big one for the #Demonref. I’ve got games in Hamilton, East Kilbride, Motherwell, Wishaw and Cambuslang on Saturday morning.

A few cold ones for the #Demonref this morning, almost didn’t get the half time press ups in because of the snow in Wishaw but got there in the end. Just the 3 2pm kick offs for me today then a couple of games of FIFA later. I never stop. #Gameon

Busy day today for the #Demonref . Had a few frantic phone calls from leagues, teams and even council facilities worried that soft refs will call games off. They’ll never learn. #Gameon

Seen a few teams and referees saying game off today. You reap what you sow, remember that appointing the #Demonref is beneficial to everyone. Guaranteed #gameon and guaranteed #fullfee for me.

Match was abandoned today due to our opposition’s keeper attacking the referee We completely & utterly condemn what happened & gave our full support to the referee during & after the incident Referees are vital for the game we love to play More info to follow @scottish_aff

Get yourselves down to Holm Park Dumfries tonight everyone to recognise @warhorserabby because he loves a bit of recognition. Hole in the Wa v Threave Development. I have 8 games or I’d head there myself. #Demonref

Had lots of messages from teams asking me if I’m using comet. I had no idea what they were talking about and assumed it was where you went for a telly. This coming season the only thing you need to worry about for the #Demonref is settling the match fee ASAP.

Micheal Stewart having a go at Hibs for not giving hospitality to families of players playing last match at Easter Rd. Makes @EastKilbrideUtd ‘s gesture giving up whole of Kirktonholme to the #Demonref’s family while I ref’d 2 matches, simultaneously, before the work started.
