10 waveforms (besides electrocardiogram) every intensivist should be familiar with: 1. Arterial line waveform Obviously, we need an arterial line. Besides the SBP/DBP/MAP/HR data, there is a ton of info to be obtained regarding tamponade, LVOTO, fluid responsiveness etc

Enter RR on the right line, weight on the left line. Connect the two lines. The intersection in middle line shows the tidal volume to maintain pCO2 at 40. Published in 1954 during the polio epidemic to estimate appropriate tidal volumes. ABGs were available after 1960.
